My partner and i had a similar problem and after a bit of digging around I found that Moneygaga is a sister company of 1Loan (details below.) Within a couple of hours of emailing them (customerservices@the1loan.co.uk) I was sent a refund request form, and have been promised a refund of £39.99 within 30 days. Hope this helps x

The 1 Loan are a trading style of Secure My Money Limited, Company Number 07713650, V.A.T Number 126630235. Consumer Credit License Number 647577/1, DPA No Z2788340. !Registered Office : 8th Floor, 80 Mosley Street, St Peter's Square, Manchester, M2 3FX.!

May I ask have you recieved your refund? Only because I am in the same predicament they said they have recieved my details and my refund has been accepted and that I will receive payment within 30 days. It still strikes me as to how it takes 30 days to complete a refund.

I doubt you'll get a response as she hasn't been back since late December. Although, I'm sure that if she hadn't received a refund she would have been back here shouting about it.

It takes 30 days because that it how long they are allowed to take - the longer they have your money the more interest they earn from it.

If you don't receive your refund then after the 30 days send them a letter of complaint if they still don't refund or respond to you in 8 weeks then complain to the FOS.

Do yourself a favour and stop going on websites looking for loans.
  • I had the same problem with halifax. The trouble is cancelling ur card does not stop them as ur account number and sort code remain the same unless u close ur account.

The reason it doesn't stop them is because you authorised the withdrawal the second you clicked the button (the one which says you confirm you understand you will be charged).

Apologies if you are unable to understand my post. Maybe there is some kind of website which will translate for you.

How did you request the refund ?
  • SORRY but alot of these people havent a clue what they are talkin about .unless you have got a loan via the links theyve sent you , you WILL are ARE entitled to your money back. I received a cheque this morning for the £44.99 they took from me in march. What you will have to do is phone or email THE FINANCIAL OMBUDSMAN( you will have too google it as cant post link. They will ask you to forward them the emails between you and the loan company. Mean while they send them a letter letting them know you are pursuing a complaint. They will then poop themselves and send you out a cheque because if they dont the ombudsman will take them to court and they have 2 pay minimum of £500 pounds cost when found guilty :) DONT GIVE UP !!! It takes a while for the ombudsman to do their stuff so keep an eye out for the returned email GOOD LUCK !
  • Also dont call their premuim rate numbers this is just a further way to get more money from you THE FINANICAL OMBUDSMAN will do all that is neccesary
