Looks like my old HP PSC 1315 has given up the ghost, typical as I've just started the first of a twin pack of original 56 cartridges
.
I'm looking for something to replace it but don't want to spend mega money, definitely as much under £100 as possible for something that is easy peasy to use as I'm technically challenged
. If there's a decent other HP that uses 56 cartridges that would be a bonus
.
Not sure what info is needed when choosing a printer but this is what I've found by looking at System Properties:
Pentium Dual Core CPU
Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition Version 2002 Service Pack 3
Internet Explorer 6 (I presume as Outlook Express is 6)
Because of where it's situated (on a shelf in computer cupboard) I really need the paper to enter and exit from the front rather than the top (limited room at the top).
I don't do a lot of printing, just a few letters etc., occasional copying and scanning.
Can anyone suggest anything please?

Thanks for reply Macman. Unfortunately I don't have room for both, just one shelf in my computer cupboard which has plenty of room for my HP PSC 1315 but nowhere to accommodate a second machine, plus copy and scan only occasionally used so an all-in-one seems a better solution for me.0 -
I've just bought an Epson 312printer/Copy/Scanner to replace a HP4280 which used to eat ink cartidges, I use it for work and home use and so far it is great but noisier than the HP.0

Thanks Riply. Right price group but from picture looks like paper feeds from top, am I right? If so it wont fit in cupboard. I think this may be a problem for me

Thanks DG. Looks good. I'll try to find out if it feeds from the top.0 -

Woo hoo it does feed from the front, looks like this might suit my needs and will fit too :T. DD is visiting at the weekend, I'll see if she can pick me one up and hopefully we can set it up between us (she's possibly better at techy stuff than me, not hard really as I'm not good at any of this stuff :rotfl: )0 -
As above in one reply I too have replaced my printer and after research bought an Epson Expression XP 312. So far so good, it works well with my ipad on air print, the printing is reasonably quiet with photo's being quite vibrant. I have also discovered that I can get re-usable cartridges which I can reload with ink myself. better still Flubit sold it cheaper than Amazon and with free delivery. £46.50."Imagination is more Important than knowledge"0

I can't fit in one with a top paper feed and that seems to have it, but thanks for the recommendation.0 -

But a Samsung mono laser is about half the footprint of an AIO. And a basic scanner such as the Canon LIDE ones can be mounted on their side-so take up very little space. No free lunch, and no free laptop
