Galaxy s3, memory full (for photos) - Will inserting a memory card do the trick ?

Samsung galaxy s3, (no memory card inside)

Loads of videos and photos have been taken using the camera, now the phone memory is full, and it wont let me save more, or even view them, saying the memory is full.

If I insert a memory card, will that do the trick, so the memory card can be used as the new memory?

if so , what type do I need?
what size would you recommend?
which make , model ?

Cheapest place to get it from ? (cheapest high street shop to get it from?)

and after I get it, how do I switch the memory for new photos to be saved to the memory card ?

Yes, then move data and apps to the card.

No don't move apps to the SD card, move the pictures and videos to it using a file manger of some sort, then check the settings of the camera app and see if there is an option to put newly taken stuff on the SD card.

Pretty sure its a micro-sd that you need. They are not expensive. Move all photos, video and music to the card. The S3 has more than enough memory for the apps you need so you wont need to move them.

How have you got a S3 without a SD card? I thought all came with a small capacity card as standard with it being a default location for photos.

OP if you get a memory card make sure its a class 10 they come with 8/16/32/64gb
I have a Samsung micro SDHC 16GB class 10 in my phone and it works really good never had any problems from it

Don't move your apps...Just move your pictures and videos over to the memory card as someone as already said

Download a file explorer app and you can transfer all your pics and vids that way

My S3 never came with a memory card already has 16gb on mine without the Memory card.

No need as the S3 already has a default file explorer app (it's called My Files).

As mentioned, my S3 didn't come with an SD card as well.

If you insert an SD card, and you're on the latest software then all future pictures and videos should automatically save to it.
This is what happened when i put one in my S3.

You can then either attach it to a computer and use the PC to move files around or use the phones own software to do it.

I'd also agree that you need class 10. These are a little more expensive but ensures you should have no problem with burst photos and full HD video recording and playback

Forgot about that one but its not very good its just basic

I use ES File Explorer and it does a lot more like you can select all your pics and move them to SD card were you can't on my files you have to do one at a time.
