Options for new house

Hi all,
I wonder if anyone can help?
I have just moved into a new house. The previous occupier had virgin, which I can't afford. I am thinking of just using the freeview on my tv. However, it appears there is no aerial socket in the lounge. What are my options? Just get an aerial point installed?

I suspect you'll probably have to have an aerial fitted, but you don't need to go to the trouble and expense of having an actual aerial point fitted. Many people just feed the cable from the roof directly into the back of the telly.0 -
To get TV you either need cable (requires a subscription), a satellite dish and receiver, or an aerial. Your non-subscription options are Freesat, Freesat From Sky, or Freeview respectively.
Since you already have a Freeview TV, an aerial install is probably your cheapest option. But have you checked the roof to see if an aerial is already installed? No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
To add to macman's comment -if its a reasonably new house you MAY find that there is an aerial installed -but the cable has been left coiled up in the loft space. Builders not finishing the job properly!0

It is a really old house (1850's) so I think Virgin may have to be the way to go!0

But you said you can't afford VM?
As above, a minimum term sub with VM will cost you far more than the one-off cost of an aerial install.
Have you gone outside and looked for an aerial yet-there may be one already there? Lack of a socket does not mean no aerial. No free lunch, and no free laptop0
