the correct response on the phone should have been..

"OK, well seeing as you cannot provide the goods on the agreed date, we'll call it a day. I expect a refund within 7 working days"
    then hang up.

Bit harsh seeing as you have no idea what the issue was in why the item was not being delivered as the op has never said what the reason was. When i worked for a company before i had a woman screaming down the phone because an item didn't get delivered despite the fact they where told the driver had died in an accident and thats the reason why (not saying thats happened to the op). So maybe the op should say the reason they have been told for the delay?
  • littlestars - they just decided not to deliver it yesterday.
philatio - i could ask for a refund this would take 5-7 working days to process then when I have had my money order another washing machine and wait 3-5 working days for deliver. so in short no washing for 2-3 weeks with it being christmas.

update - customer services stated delivery today after 3.30pm. tracking states deliery between 10.25am and 2.25pm. have had to take another day off work, just cant manage without a washing machine not in an area with a laundrette.

Check the delivery article linked earlier in this thread. You could counter-claim for the financial cost of taking holidays due to their non-performance.
  • Guess what they have called to say it's not coming today!!!!!
why because there is a dent in the side of it.
my response give me a discount deliver it anyway.
their response not even on the van!!!

To be fair, most people would reject a dented machine - so it makes sense that it's not on the van.
Not very good practice to keep you waiting this long, however!
  • well 2hrs later, the manager at the deliver company has arranged for us to pick up a replacement from our local store.

call made to currys customer service to speak to manager awaiting a call back.

Gosh, I'm amazed they can see the dent with the amount of packaging that comes on white goods. Hope you get sorted soon op, for future reference co-operative electrical are excellent. They give you a 1 hour time slot for delivery. I would definitely be looking for a goodwill gesture from Currys.

    Bit harsh ..

    Not at all.

OP was told it would come Saturday. It didn't
She then took a day off Monday as it was supposed to be delivered then... It didn't
And then surprise surprise.. she took another day off work... and again it didn't arrive.

The excuses are irrellevant. Currys/PCW don't give a monkeys about their customers. The only thing they understand is money. So my answer would be to cancel the order and give my money to someone else instead.
