My favourite Christmas breakfast is smoked salmon and scrambled eggs, although when I was a meat-eater it was Eggs Benedict with Buck's Fizz. Made with Prosecco or Cava, of course. Adding orange juice to good champagne is a waste.
Oh, how I wish I came from a family where Dad and the dog dressed up as Santa! How cute is that?0 -
It really is awesome in my mum and dad's house at Christmas B&T. They go all out with decorations, my dad dresses up and him and the dog run from room to room with bells waking everyone up.
I'll need to get them some grandchildren! I'm 26, brother and his gf are 24, and my sister is nearly 20, and hes still dressing up as santa lol0 -
Haha I don't think my dad has ever dressed up as santa, but since we've had the dog we've got him a new 'outfit' every year, ranging from a tacky christmas jumper to this year, which is a christmas pudding costume0

I like a long lie, and then a nice breakfast, maybe smoked salmon bagels and a glass of fizz.
I have a toddler though, so we're having pastries and coffee (frothy milk for tiddler) while the present opening commences. The frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0 -

I am going to his mums for the afternoon before we both return to my house. Then we will go to see his father on Boxing Day. He is not seeing my family this year but it's nothing personal and they don't mind. Next year, we'll fit all three sets of parents in.
It will be nice for you to start some traditions of your own. The stockings is a new one for me as my family never did them (not that I remember anyway). We are also going to buy an advent calendar that we can place things in the drawers naughty or nice next December (he doesn't live with me yet to have done that this year). I have seen one in NEXT for £25, hoping to get it half price in sale.0 -

The advent calender idea sounds good! That will be a good tradition to start in your own home.
I think I have decided to make some fancy toast with poached egg and bacon (posh stuff, not Asda's own, seeing as its christmas :rotfl:) and blueberry and vanilla muffins, with the bucks fizz. I'll be up mega early Christmas morning as usual, so thats a nice breakfast to have if we wont be eating again for a while!0 -
All these lovely breakfast ideas are making me v hungry! Christmas morning is always a bit of a rush at our house (my 'fault', as I go to church in the morning which doesn't leave us much time). Although we did both stay at home in the morning last year and we still didn't manage a lovely breakfast... think we'd need a hotel for that sort of service
A cheap santa hat, some nice (but not bank-breaking nice) underwear and a bit of tinsel also does the trick.

Now this is something me and my OH have got down to a tee !!
Up early, Christmas Carols CD on with a DVD of a crackling fireplace playing on the tv (looks good on a 42" screen )!! Open pressies, then breakfast !
That consists of Croissants with cream cheese, ham, raspberry jam, shortbread and brioche (all from Lidl !) and fresh coffee !
Then we meet friends and walk our dogs together and whilst the girls chat, my buddy Nick and I drink miniatures and smoke cigars !
Home, shower and prepare lunch which will be roast chicken and beef with all the trimmings followed by Xmas Pud & Cheese and biscuits. We are being joined this year by MIL and SIL.
Then off to my brother's for games, more food, a few drinks and most importantly a lot of laughing and genuine affection amongst us all.
Cannot be beaten !Thanks to MSE I cleared £37k of debt in five years and I was lucky enough to meet Martin to thank him personally.0 -
I would give the Santa outfit a miss, but a nice bacon sandwich for breakfast, opening presents then chilling in front of the TV. Followed by a post dinner sleep then a walk.Save £200 a month : [STRIKE]Oct[/STRIKE] Nov Dec Jan Feb Mar Apr0
