Your Ideal Christmas Morning

Hello everyone
Looking for some ideas...
This is the first year I will not be staying at my mum's on Christmas eve. I moved out this year, so myself and my boyfriend will be having Christmas morning at mine.
How can I make it special for us?
My family are really big on Christmas (dad dresses up as Santa, dresses the dog up as Santa, displays presents out in the living room, stockings hanging on the mantelpiece etc) whereas his family are a little bit scroogey if I'm honest. He's not, just the rest of them. So I'd like to make it a really special, cheesy Christmas for him
I'll be putting all his presents under the tree, and I've got him a stocking I'll be filling up with little cheapo items just a wee surprise. I want to do something nice for breakfast too, but I'm not sure what?
I was also considering getting a little cutesy sexy santa costume to wear when I wake him up lol but is that a bit too much?
Also, what is your ideal Christmas morning?
Excited

Santa Costume is a winner especially with stockings and suspenders.
Nice breakfast with a glass of champers, open presents, play hide the sausage, set off for the outlaws for dinner, dodgy TV and laughs.0 -
Hopefully to wake refreshed after 7 or 8 hours sleep: Last year I only got about 90 minutes due to a highly excited 4 year old
.
And to not have a cold. And maybe to enjoy a proper breakfast, as we're having a late dinner this year, so should have chance for something more wholesome than a Lindt reindeer washed down with tea.

What will you have for breakfast?
I cant wait til we have kids for Christmaskind of at that stage now where we are too old for the proper Christmas magic (I'm 26, he's 28) but dont have kids yet so we're stuck in limbo! I'll try to keep the magic going though :rotfl:

I think you've got it pretty sussed out tbh. Yes to the santa costume if you think he'll like it. I'm not sure on what you could do for breakfast though?? Something easy or maybe his favourite, it doesn't have to be something fancy really... just something you know he'll like.
I wish it was just me and OH this year. Not that I don't love my 14 y/o son BUT can he moan!! My Xmas morning will be made up of opening pressies, no time for breakfast, getting breakfast for everyone else, stopping the dog opening pressies that don't belong to him, making sure the house is nice and clean for OH's mum and stopping the dog raiding the kitchen!! Roll on Xmas night :rotfl:Even if you stumble, you're still moving forward.0 -

He's always said he's not into the wrapping, he's more interested in the present itself but I thought it would be a nice surprise :rotfl:
Not looking forward to breaking the news to my mother that I wont be staying at hers though. I assumed she would realise that now I dont live there I wouldnt be there, think she's assumed I would just be staying though. I'll have to speak to her later.
Your christmas sounds great! Love a noisy, busy christmas with family. Suppose I've never actually been on the organising side of it though, must get quite hectic!0 -
Slip the OH and DD a valium each, so I can sleep in till around 10.0

For me it would be someone to wish me a Merry Christmas and give me a hugOne man's folly is another man's wife. Helen Roland (1876 - 1950)0

I do a little stocking for DH, this year he is doing one for me too. Breakfast: probably some sort of continental affair, when I lived at home, we didnt really get an organised breakfast on Christmas morning so I've kind of continued that. Then our presents from each other and a bit of time to relax before getting ready to go to MIL's for the rest of the day.0

I think alot depends on how you plan to spend the rest of the day really...
are you preparing a christmas lunch too...if so make breakfast a little lighter...fruit, yoghurt, crossaints, salmon, cream cheese...take your pick
if your not having lunch until later you might want a cooked breakfast together
either way your first christmas together is a special one no matter what you do...so have fun and enjoy it
Ideal christmas for me....waking up in barbados with the sea outside my window and someone else to cook then I'll sit on the beach and watch santa appear on a jet ski (husband and children optional extras!)....
We decided quite early in our relationship that the traditional christmas didnt fit with us,and trying to share out time with the respective parents seemed harsh so we set a rule of going away.
We used to see the parents the weekend before we went and exchange gifts with them....and set ourselves a small budget for"creative" presents for us...its now turned into our traditional christmas so the word traditional can mean what you want it to mean
We dont always go somewhere hot or indeed far away but its not been at home for the last 22 years....frugal October...£41.82 of £40 food shopping spend for the 2 of us!
2017 toiletries challenge 179 out 145 in ...£18.64 spend0
