how many KW is my multi-fuel stove?

I moved into a rented house at the start of October with a multi-fuel stove and I'm curious to know if it's possible to find out how many KW it is.

There's no manual or anything like that but, I will try to describe it...

It is a double door, rough dimensions 60cm wide, 35cm deep, 30cm from the grate to the roof of the inside. There's one big vent on the top and two small vents under the glass on each door...

Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hope this works, might also be worth saying there is a chocolate on the top and the chimney comes out the back and not the top as many do.

Stupid auto-correct, hot plate not chocolate!
  • Hi,
Looks like a yeoman, same stove as mine but I have single door.
    Rated 7kw max.

Thanks Billy, so you'd say it might be 7KW at best? It's connected to 8 radiators, no wonder they rarely get roasting hot, probably a good thing though we have a 7 1/2 month baby girl.
  • Ah,
May be one of the larger models, Devon 9 kW or County 13 kW.

Something else I may as well ask while I'm here...

How much difference does the window gasket and fire rope make?
I know it's important just wondering if it makes a big difference. On our stove the top part of the window gasket is missing from one of the Windows and there is fire missing from where the doors meet and a bit half off where one of the doors seals to the level of the grating just under the window.

I recently bought window gasket, fire rope and adhesive to sort it all out (wish me luck I'm totally new to this and any advice would be welcomed) but I bought it in the town where my parents live and after gathering up a mountain of Christmas presents to take home for our little girl I forgot the stove materials, so I will be going to get it this week.

Thanks everyone for the advice, it's been a steep learning curve so far. I'm a convert though I love our stove, I'll definitely get one once I buy a house!
  • Hello again,
If your doors gasket and window gasket don't make a good seal you won't be able to control the fire, will waste fuel and may over fire causing damage to the stove.

Yeah the window does get charred by smoke, I'm surprised the landlord didn't fix it before we moved in.
