Phones 4 U have REALLY messed up and is about to cause some upset

I would go to your nearest P4U and speak to someone face to face about it rather than calling/emailing people.
Giving someone the tablet before this was sorted out was not very clever but it shouldnt be impossible for P4U to sort this out by getting the right details matched up to your account.
I've had many phone contracts for my wife and myself and have had many "freebies" too but NOT ONCE have I thought to delay opening, using, selling or indeed giving these things to somebody else on the premise I would have to send them back to the retailer because they sent me a phone number registered to somebody else.0 -
We don't actually know what the problem is, the network is trying to resolve the issue but the OP is not helping. The mobile company cannot suppy the service at the moment but they need to be given a chance to resolve the issue.
Someones screwed up and it may be as simple as the OP returning to store and getting a correct sim and new number, but until the OP goes in store and asks it's all speculation from us.
I understand its complicated by giving the tablet away but the OP did that after these problems all started, with hindsight that was a mistake, but going into the shop and explaining this all may be the best way to start making progress.
Like I said the ONLY way I can get this resolved is to return EVERYTHING so I can reapply and EVERYTHING will be sent back to me.The chap from P4U (who is high up) categorically told me this is the ONLY way and for the record I wouldn't have imagined IN A MILLION MILLION YEARS I would have to return everything in order to sort this out.......would you??0 -
I cant believe that this is the case. Its similar to you losing your phone, Vodafone zap the old SIM card that is linked to your account, link a new one to your account and issue you the new one. This should not be rocket science to resolve.Like I said the ONLY way I can get this resolved is to return EVERYTHING so I can reapply and EVERYTHING will be sent back to me.The chap from P4U (who is high up) categorically told me this is the ONLY way and for the record I wouldn't have imagined IN A MILLION MILLION YEARS I would have to return everything in order to sort this out.......would you??
There is no such thing as a PAYG SIM as a SIM is a SIM, its the account thats linked to it that determines how it behaves so your account has been setup wrong.
It sounds like the P4U guy wants to cancel everything and start again which is why they want everything returned.
So I would go to a P4U store and get them to call Vodafone and sort this out. Dont bother writing them emails or calling them up as thats easy to fob you off.
If the bill is from Vodafone directly then go to a Vodafone store and get them to fix it.0 -

Have you been in store and asked, and yes if it all has to go back then that may be the case, but until you ask in store what they can do you do not know. They may be able to swap the tablet on the system as you want without the tablet swap.
High up people generally don't know ways around systems as they don't have to deal with them day in day out.0 -

I WILL be going to the store this week as I should have the tablet back any day now.The P4U chap I spoke to said he would either send me a return package OR I could return them instore although I expecting confusion from the staff there TBH0 -
I understand that you are having a huge headache with this and you shouldn't have to suffer screw ups by companies, however...
You are taking issue with the fact that you've given the tablet away but are happy to buy a new tablet that's the same and give that back to Phones4u.
Just buy a new tablet, give that to the child and swap it for the original...she's 7, she's hardly going to know or care, I don't see the issue in that department.0 -

There's a lot more to it than that.If I get refused another contract because I've applied for 2 so close together that would hurt my credit score. Also asking for the tablet back was hugely embarrassing.
The fact that I've now been without a phone for weeks bothers me.The hassle of having to sort this out myself bothers me a little too.
Also found out I lost out on some overtime too as nobody was able to contact me.0
