Citylink - seriously?

Ordered a TV from John Lewis. Tracked it yesterday evening to say it was delivered. Signed for by a name that I didnt recognise. There was someone in all day yesterday, and there was no attempted delivery. Called all the neighbours but no one had it. Called John Lewis and was waiting reply. Called Citylink but they were closed. Really panicking - didnt know if TV had been stolen, or possibly left out in the rain somewhere, or left somewhere it could be stolen.

Courier turned up with the TV this morning. Said there was a backlog?! I said that there was a real panic over the whereabouts of the TV and the courier was too flustered to reply and proceeded to hand me someone elses TV instead.

I assume the courier signed for it last night to make it look like they delivered it on time, and then were out today to try to catch up.

Ha that's nothing, city link have lost my new freezer.
They apparently left a card last Saturday, and Tuesday.and now the whole thing is missing.
No they did not leave a card last sat, I know this because the retailer did not even send the parcel til Monday. Quite amazing that. Plus I have had a week off work and been in all the time, so Tuesday is a lie.
Then when I called them they said they can't get the parcel ( freezer) up my steps and past my railings, what steps, what railings said I?
Then they admitted its lost, and I must call the retailer, tell the retailer to claim for a lost parcel.

    Well I mean what!

Truly awful service from city link.
Pity the retailer who now has to send me another and claim from city link.

Would it have been better to leave it till Monday?
    Im guessing its poor training.
No doubt Citylink have systems to scan items that cannot be delivered on due date
  • probably signed it off as being delivered so they were still paid for the job. had this happen to me before.

You appear to be defending a courier claiming parcels are delivered when they are not, and putting their own signatures on them. Why on earth would you defend that?

Why pity the retailer? they chose to use Citylink, not you.

    nope. read it again
no doubt Citlylink have a system in place for missed deliveries(by whatever method)
However Im guessing a training issue has the driver not knowing it or the fallout of using the delivered option.

I must admit if I ever get a tracking number for a retailer and it says Citylink, my heart sinks.
A parcel was supposed to be delivered last Thursday and when it wasn't delivered I contacted them and was told the address didn't exist!! Funny how DPD managed to deliver a parcel there the same day! They said they'd redeliver on the Friday but again it didn't arrive. Apparently they ran out of time. It finally arrived today.
    Absolute disgrace.
Complain to John Lewis as their choice of courier is giving them a bad name.

City link attempted to deliver a parcel to me at 7:30am on Saturday morning. I appreciate they are busy at this time of year, but really? 7:30am on a Saturday? They didn't bother to ring the doorbell, which might have got us out of bed, the only reason I know what time they attempted delivery was because one of the neighbours was coming home from nightshift and had to get out of the way of the van.

Citylink are shocking. I ordered a laptop. Tracking said it was received and signed by Mrs signol. I phoned her - she hadn't received anything. We then went around the neighbours (one of which we didn't get on with, another issue but they left soon after). Fortunately the neighbours opposite had it, and had signed with their own name (nothing like ours). Thankfully the others didn't get it...

Just been on the phone as our package was signed for on Friday lunch, with a name and signature, even though my wife and I were both at work all day Friday...

Turns out the driver delivered the package a mile away and the people just accepted it. City Link are now going round to get the package.

The worst thing is I went round to this address (we have similar sounding road names) and the guy told me straight up he hadn't accepted anything. The lying robbing scumbag. But then again it's the driver's fault, if someone knocks on your door before xmas and says 'delivery' you'd accept it - but the address on the front was definitely not theirs so they've stolen it, plain and simple.

City Link accepted they did wrong and said if the driver doesn't get it back they will call the authorities. Too much drama this for xmas eve!
