Does Stoplock Pro steering wheel lock generally fit Airbag steering wheels ?

I know from the standard Stoplocks below, there is an Airbag version, which has a sharper turn in the arm and curve down on the end, compared to standard Stoplock.

I tested both standard versions on my car and the Airbag one was only one that fitted.

As airbags have been fitted in steering wheels for quite a few years and the Stoplock Pro is still selling then the answer is probably yes.

Any reason why you think that they wouldn't fit considering that they are designed to fit a wide variation in steering wheel design?

The shape of the arm looks like first standard one, rather than Airbag version.

Now looking at the photo here, I see there are deeper hooks, which might mean it does not have to have same shape to fit over steering wheel.

It's a particular fit, as it needs to slot in one side, go over centre airbag, then other side end needs to reach & lock onto steering wheel.

My problem is not the air-bag - it's the thickness of the actual rim of the wheel.

My old Stop-lock doesn't close around it. :(

Are these really still useful/worthwhile? I have one in my roof somewhere but I've never used it on my current car.

Standard versions are tight around steering wheel where they lock.

I think Stoplock Pro has deeper/wider hooks, so may be more room to fit, see photo in ebay listing in my previous post.

Thank you for making a major amendment to your post that makes my post look totally inappropriate to your question

    That was me too.

I wanted the extra thief deterrent factor so I fetched the old Stop-lock down from the loft only to find that the dashed thing was too tight for my steering wheel.

I reckon I would leave marks on the rim if I were to force it to close.

But yes - it's an extra level of security as lap-top equipped thieves can by-pass the electrickery of ECUs and even clone key-fobs from OBD sockets.

If they are that genned up, they will have little trouble getting a wheel lock off.

I don't know about that - these are the flash guys that carry lap-tops and OBD cables - not burglar tools - I hope.

They'll hopefully leave my car alone and go for someone else's one.

Rather different skill set to remove a steering wheel lock and overide an immobiliser as you say.

I work with a guy who knows how to write some basic computer code. I was rather lost for words at one point when he had to ask me which way he needed to turn a bolt to undo it. Needless to say we've kept him away from more hands-on tasks since then...

Both my cars were broken into last weekend, one had its Stoplock removed, other he was not successful.

One car had standard Stoplock removed, central locking pin sheared.

Other car had the Airbag Stoplock, which was not removed, maybe because it had more restricted movement within steering wheel.

He didn't try to steal either car, didn't seem to steal anything from car and luckily didn't do much damage.

Could have been prank or thief in training.
