Incredible service from Amazon

I placed an order on Saturday at around 2pm - the order was delivered today (Sunday) at 9.05am. Incredible. Admittedly I have Amazon Prime (free trial), but still. That is a seriously superb service - and such competitive prices. No wonder few can compete.

Don't get me wrong I use Amazon a lot.
But I get the impression pretty soon they are just going to put a huge metal roof on all our town centres and turn them all into Amazon warehouses.0 -

And if this happens, there won't be anyone to blame except the high street retailers themselves.
I realise that these retailers can't compete with Amazon on price, but there is no reason why their customer service couldn't be improved greatly, and this alone would help slow down or stop so many high street shops closing down.
Why would I want to spend my hard earned cash in somewhere like PC World/Currys knowing that if there was a problem with my purchase, I might have one hell of a fight to get a remedy that I was legally entitled to?0 -
I recently ordered a camara via Amazon. The supplier withdrew from the Amazon platform, and I did not receive the camera.
Amazon gave me full refund within 2 days.
The supplier ignored all contact from me.This is an open forum, anyone can post and I just did !0 -

The only way to stop the march of Amazon is to stop using them. Visit your local high street, pay through the nose for parking, fight the crowds, pay more & get a lesser service. You'll also have to visit more than one shop to buy what you need.
If the shops gave a decent service and my local council hadn't doubled the car parking charges I might still be shopping with them. As it is, I prefer to browse from the comfort of my home and have my goods delivered to me. I also like the peace of mind, knowing I am protected if I have a problem with my goods.0 -

I ordered a blu-ray boxset at 11.30pm on Sunday, it arrived on Tuesday morning. This was with free super saver delivery. I couldn't believe it was so quick, especially at this time of year!0 -
Amazon are brilliant, I really don't care if the shops on the high street perish.0

To be honest I do prefer to shop on the high street even if I did have to pay a couple of pounds more.
However it's the customer service in local shops that are really appalling, so I do end up going to amazon0 -

Hmm, few can compete because they actually pay their tax bill..."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -

I think its more a case of they pay the tax bill that they have to pay as set down by government rules - they take the same advantage of the rules that aged popstars do........the only difference is that the later seemed to get ignored when people get het up about this sort of thing2014 Target;
