Best pay as you go sim

Just looking at the best pay as you go sim for me to have.

Usage:
Occasional calls very few minutes per week.
Text messages maybe 20 a month.
Internet usage when out and about occasionally.

Any ideas on the best for me?

What about Giff Gaff... Any good?

Another vote for Ovivo provided you get a Vodaphone signal. If not I would suggest Threes 321 payg sim . 3p per minute, 2p per text & 1p per mb data

If vodafone has good coverage, consider Ovivo (200 minutes, 300 texts and 500mb free each month, but you pay £20 one-off for sim).

Otherwise Three 321 (calls 3p per minute, texts 2p per minute, data 1p per mb)

If vf and Three signals are poor, try White Mobile (on EE network)
calls 3p per minute (landline) 5p per minute (mobile), free (within network), texts 5p (free within network), data (2.5p per mb)

Giffgaff (on EE network) is uncompetitive
calls 10p per minute, texts 6p, data (20p for up to 20mb, and 20pper mb after that) calls/texts free within network

Useful suggestions from the other posts above but the important thing is to check network coverage where you want it first and then the best price provider. Ask others around you and look at coverage checkers but have a pinch of salt ready!
O2 and Vodafone and the MVNOs that use them have the best frequencies for transmission range in rural areas and into buildings.

EE (Orange & T Mobile) along with Three use higher frequencies that don't penetrate buildings quite so well but in cities many people find Three to be quite good.

Re Ovivo - it's a good deal but you have to view adverts when online and receive text adverts, so that might be a consideration when choosing.

If you are using apps like Facebook and Twitter on Ovivo do these apps still work and would you still receive adverts while using them?

I won't recommend you using Ovivo for web browsing. However, apps like facebook, whatapps is fine.
