I have spoken to a few neighbours about this since it happened last year. You're right, we should definitely contest it as a unit. I'll see what I can do on that front.

Thankyou couponmad. I'll post here again as soon as I get a reply.
  • Have you contacted your landlord yet regarding this?

What do the terms of your tenancy agreement state regarding permits and parking?

Points were given in post #19 for other ports of call.

Whilst a group action of neighbours to challenge the management company is a good idea - some of these may be leaseholders and not renting?

You could also collectively get together and write a cease and desist letter to the parking company and even consider requesting residents reg numbers are kept on a white list to prevent this problem occurring again.

Have you also had further communications regarding the other parking charge and G24?

    Thanks 4consumerrights...
I haven't contacted my landlord yet, purely because he works overseas and is consistently unreachable. Even via email he lags on replies. I thought i'd see if I get replies from the letters i've sent before bringing him into the equation.
What I have done is emailed the property management company, who just basically said "if everything you try doesn't work, come back to us and we might consider getting involved".
My tenancy agreement doesn't contain much info on parking. It just states that one space is allocated for the flat, and usage of it is subject to the conditions of the car park.
You are right, some tenants are leaseholders. A list of registration numbers is a good idea. I am definitely going to look into your suggestions.

As for the G24 parking charge, the last correspondence I've had from them was a CCS Debt collectors letter issued 12th December 2013. Would you advise I wait and see if I receive anything more from them before taking any action?

A G24 PCN can be ignored if you've missed the appeal deadline and if 'naming someone else as the driver to rewind the clock' isn't an option. See the NEWBIES thread about options 'if too late to appeal', and debt collector stage is also covered there in the sticky thread, top of this forum.

    hello again guys,
just an update on one of my cases.

So a few weeks back I sent out a variation of Daisy's letter to both Gladstones and MET.
I haven't yet received a reply from Gladstones, but I got one from MET saying they have passed the case on to Roxburghe and so I need to contact them instead.
However, I had previously got a letter from Roxburghe saying they had passed it on to Gladstones :S
So should I send a letter to Roxburghe now too just to be safe? or just wait to see if i get a reply from Gladstones?

I find it amazing how they are just throwing the case to eachother in the hopes I might pay up. Just admit defeat already!

I would do that too, yes , then they have all had one , especially if it went so far as court letters , you need to be seen to be doing everything possible , so one more letter isnt going to break the bank, so yes , do so , asap

    Hey guys, me again (unfortunately)!

MET are not giving up. I have received a letter from Debt Recovery Plus Ltd demanding a payment of £150.00 for my outstanding parking charge from 13/06/2013.
Over a year later and they are still chasing me! I dont know if you guys remember, but this is the case where I received the penalty charge whilst parked in MY OWN parking space outside my apartment.
The last thing I had done was to send Gladstones and MET the letter that i'd posted previously in this thread. This letter invited them to refer the case to POPLA or issue a Letter Before Claim. They have done neither, and instead referred my case to yet another debt recovery company and have not sent me anything to let me know they have acknowledged my letter.
Debt Recovery Plus are demanding the money be paid by 3/10/2014 or threaten to "recommend to the creditor's solicitor that court action should be taken". YAWN.

What should be my next step? Should I send a similar letter to DRP as I had sent to Gladstones? And send yet another letter to MET? If so, what points need to be made? Especially considering they didn't even acknowledge my previous correspondence.

As always, thanks everyone for your ongoing help.

Your next step is nothing. Let them send their junk mail. I wrote this recently because if you search, you will find umpteen zillion threads about DRP:

This is nothing to be bothered about. If you get a real court claim from MET then come back of course but they aren't litigious and a debt collector CANNOT litigate.

    ceetp - all as above.

In case you've missed it, you can read about Roxburghe going into administration here:

    and on this Forum-

n.b.#22 on that Thread - if ever you receive a letter from a 'company' that might be Roxburghe in disguise, share it.
