My thoughts go out to you. My future MIL dislikes me intensely but i know its not actually me but the thought of me as she liked me well enough until she realised we were serious about each other (we were very young when we met) but thankfully shes not been to interfering with the wedding. i think shes more the kind to just !!!!! about it after.
My MIL is single but as family are going shes not getting any friends invited and if she wanted i would maybe give her one and more at night. The thing at the end of the day is its your wedding. Its hard to stand up to her but i think you need to start as you mean to go on. If you let her away with it now then shell just push for your marriage.
However, i know from experience its harder to stand up than it seems, you seem to have some other good advice as to how to word standing up to her though0 -
My definition, mil always acted like she liked me and even now she still acts like my BFF most of the time just when the wedding is mentioned it gets nasty. I'm trying not to mention the wedding around her now so I don't get upset anymore. The worst part atm is that we relented and said she could take a date to our wedding and then when oh mentioned it she acted like she'd never asked about it and was all 'why would I want a date to your wedding?' So I've said if she's gonna act like that she can go by herself! XxxDebt free finally :j
