MOTO GB internet access

After seeing on here the great price of moto gb at tesco i have ordered one. My current mobile is an old nokia c3 that i can get on the interent with but it is very slow so been needing a new one for a while.

I am in the process of moving house but after a few problems i am unlikely to be moving out until mid january. I have already given notice on my home internet and i will be cut off on 22nd december, this means i will have about 1 month with no home internet access.

How good is internet browsing on motorola gb? I use the internet for everything and do not think i can cope without it (unless i use wifi at local coffee shops etc). I mainly use internet for facebook, banking and general shopping etc so wondering if the moto gb will be ok to use as sole internet access for this?

I do have a samsung tablet but will only connect if in wifi area and can't get a dongle because the area i live in is a no coverage area.

If there is no network coverage for your area how are you going to get it to work on your phone ???

I can get on the internet on my phone here now but ive tried a dongle before and it didn't work. Also looking at different mobile internet coverage checkers it says no inside coverage. Im on o2 for my mobile at present and can seem to connect with that so hoping it will still work with new phone.

    It's 'G', not 'GB'.

If it works on the old phone it will work on the Moto ....the problem is although the new phone should be quicker the experience will be similar to the old phone if the speed is down to the signal strength.

If you need the larger screen of the tablet for internet banking etc you could tether your phone to your tablet to get a 3g connection.

Check your phone contract to see if tethering is permitted. Also keep an eye on data usage to make sure you don't exceed your allowance.
  • becky4131 - If you're going to use the Moto G for banking and shopping instead of your computer be sure to get some antivirus software for it first. Android do a free package for your phone which I think is called AVG.

Also it is a good idea to check your bank's website security page as most recommend extra security like Trusteer Rapport/Endpoint and this is available free to download from most banks/building societies and it gives you an extra layer of protection for online financial services.
I have used it without any problems for a couple of years now and it runs smoothly alongside antivirus software.

Thanks i have read up about tethering but im on payg so not sure if it allows it. Im not sure on my internet allowance at the moment, ive had my current sim card for years and was originally bought as 'top up £10 each month and get free unlimited texts and internet' il have to look into it as don't really want to change number.
