Royal Mail going downhill

Is it me or has Royal Mail's service gone downhill since they started to hike their prices ? That's 2 packages gone missing I never received this year and still I am endlessly waiting for other stuff to be delivered. Overseas posts always seems to get here quicker. Is the war still on ? What a rip off.

Funny you say that, I ordered an item online from Fareham on Monday it arrived next day, it was the wrong size so I returned it and it was received next day, they sent another out the same day it was received next day.
My OH ordered an item from a company in Bristol at 3pm on Wednesday this week it was delivered am Thursday.

I don't think it's a general indication that services are going downhill. These things have been happening since I learned to read a newspaper - and that's a long time ago.0

Lets await the unofficial rep who will tell us how Royal Mail are having cuts and posties need the parcels to fill gaps in their van floors.0

For the 99% the service is no better or no worse but there withe such high volumes there will always be a small number of items that slip through cracks - you just hope it is not one of yours.35, semi retired, sun, sand, sea, life is good

Our local PO depot in town has a sign on the counter "please ring the bell and an overworked member of staff will deal with you". I always wondered how they got away with that as it 's always there.0

I must have been lucky as I have been very impressed with Royal Mail, except maybe by their prices. But the cost is worth it to me because I have never had a bad experience, get the same driver when delivering parcels, who uses common sense if I am not at home. I have had less positive experiences with some couriers. I will continue to use them in the future.
Re the sign on the counter, well, you have to have a sense of humour in any job. I am sure no offence is meant.0 -

It's not really any different to signs like "You don't have to be mad to work here, but it helps".0 -
