Previous ISP still charging me

I changed ISP a couple of months ago and lately realised that my previous ISP are still charging me for my account.Checked with my existing supplier and they said they are providing my package to me.I then contacted my previous supplier and they checked there's been no activity they can see, but my account is still live and I need to give them 30 days notice to cancel the contract.
So I'll have another months worth to pay up.My previous supplier has no records of the change over to the new and the new supplier have no records that they were contacted by the previous supplier as to the change over.

I have my go live date letter and also there are no calls been made on the bill from my previous supplier from over this period that I've been doubled charged.I thought my new provider wouldve notified my previous supplier to change over?

What are my options, what can I do?Also my previous provider now wants 30 days notice to cancel, but I'm outside of my contract period, does this 30 day period apply?

It's likely 30 day notice will be the standard termination agreement anyway.

Did you get a MAC (code) from your previous ISP? If you did, and gave it to your new supplier, AFAIK, this should be the point where your new supplier tell your old supplier 'we're taking over from this date' - your old supplier normally sends a letter also at this point to tell you this. Your argument therefore may be with your new supplier, in that they have agreed to supply you, but appear to have omitted to tell your previous supplier, which is part of the process they should be following?

I'd be tempted to give the notice to your old supplier anyway (recorded mail if poss)
  • Thanks.I was likely to have gone back to them in a years time as there's not much in it with the costs and their seems fine, just that its not worth staying with a current supplier longer than your contract due to the cashback on offer. If they aren't willing to budge anyway on the payments I'll not return to them again and dissuade friends and family from doing so.

Did you not cancel the DD after you received what you thought would be the last bill from the old ISP?
As above, did you migrate with a MAC?
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
