Replacement Forum Graphic For NavBar

Every time I visit I see the forum image in the navigation bar and think yuck! So I created an alternative basically keeping the same style just, hopefully, a bit smarter.

It's a straight replacement and can be downloaded from

(not sure if you can save the image in the post).

espresso , if you think that's worse than the current one you really need to see an optician or perhaps that's why you nick is Mad. The current one looks like it was drawn by a five year old.

If it was up to me I'd completely change the graphic as it looks totally out of place against the other images. But that's not my decision so I simply improved the current one.

Well as you think that the whole site "was thrown together" see your previous comments here and all of the designers hard work is "no improvement on the old one" you are simply insulting the web designers, who have obviously put at lot of thought and effort into developing the finally approved design.

It doesn't really look like it was designed more like it was thrown together, both structure and colour wise. The graphics are poor too. No improvement on the old one IMO, should have saved your money!

That's right it's not your decision and the forum graphic is supposed to stand out and be obviously different to the website graphic links!

I still think it was thrown together but that doesn't mean members can't help try and improve it even if in small ways.

They may have spent a lot of effort in to it, but good/great it certainly isn't, it's OK but then so was the old design and I'm not the only one with that opinion, but they're are just that my opinions.

The new image still does (did) stand out, the style is basically the same just doesn't look like it was drawn with Crayolas!

Anyway as I assume you're simply a member in which case your opinions are as valid/invalid as mine. However your initial post is one of those that I really hate, saying someting is rubbish with nothing to back it up. Fine if you don't like it, in which case something like:

"Thanks for that but I prefer the current one because..."

    would have been fine.

Anyway forget I posted it, it's not worth the effort if I have to reply to comments such as yours. Consider the thread closed and the graphic has been removed.

    Thanks

    Marc

I am not keen on the current one as you can see the edges of the image and they don't bend into the back ground, you can see a distinct square around the image.

Tut, tut, there you go insulting the designers and that just isn't the done thing ;)

If the design and implementation of the new site was free then I appologise to whoever was involved, it's only if it was paid for that I'm not impressed.

I had started reworking the whole navigation bar, basically the same design just with a more professional, up to date look. They would have been suggested improvements, obviously it would be up to Martin whether he wanted to use them. Anyway that's academic now, I've given up on the idea
