Ntl Halfed my bill

I am currently on Ntl's Unlimited dial up package. The initial price was £10 per month in September 2003 when I signed, since then it has gone up twice and I received an Email saying that it was going to £13.49 in June.
Although I was more than happy with the service, good speed, no cutoffs etc., This was the last straw, the price was now getting close to broadband.
So I rang thm up today and told them that I was thinking of cancelling and getting broadband from Tiscalli (£15.99), but before I did, was there anything that they could offer me to keep me as a customer as I have been a good regular paying customer over the years with tv, phone and lately The internet.
I was amazed, no haggling or messing about, they just said that they will give me half price phone line rental and half price internet for 6 months, and then to contact them after 6 months to see what more they could do.
Great, what a result.
To sum up: old prices £9.49 Line rental + £12.49 Internet = £21.98
New price £4.75 Line rental + £6.25 Internet =£11 for everything

you were lucky on this one! I guess it depends on who you get on the phone!0

I tried this about a month ago dazza001, by phoning their "customer services". They said it was nothing to do with them and I should phone the sales team. I never got round to it, but just wonder which number you phoned?
