Car garage forged my signature?

With regards to op needing to be concerned about parking fines etc. I think this case needs to be treated exactly like how a criminal would put a random persons details on. The dvla/police will look into it and reverse all the charges. When the logbook arrives with you, report fraudulent v5 to the police and take it from there. They may ask you to send it to the dvla or take it off you and deal with it internally.
Sure if the sale was made there would be no harm done but forging signatures is a really bad precedent, what if they move onto forging finance applications?0 -
Do not block or delete their emails, they are sending you written statements of evidence which you can fall back on later,.
Did they say post office signed it? Well that's pretty much an admission from their part that you never signed it. So if you do have to pursue it in court to reverse fines and it transpires that the v5 has you name and squiggle on it you can provide evidence of them admitting someoneeelsesigned it.0 -

the right way would be to send the v5c back to DVLA with a cover note saying that the v5c was sent to them fraudulently as they had not signed the v5c.
.
Dvla are incompetent, the fact that it takes them 3 to 4 weeks to process a bloody keeper change should speak volumes about their efficiency. No iffs no buts report to police first and then post with a covering letter to dvla0 -
Lets turn this around. If the dealer starts parking where they shouldn't or starts speeding, all the fines are liable to the registered keeper, i.e. YOU.
Take the V5 back to the dealer & ensure the yellow slip is signed by the dealer & yourself & then personally send the yellow slip off to get the car back into 'motor trade space'
Get the V5 out of your name this way pronto...0 -

This is what NOT to do, because the OP will still be liable for any speeding or parking offences upto the date of change of keeper so even if the yellow part was filled in, the OP will be liable for the gap inbetween where it was transfured to them then back to the motor trader like you said yourself above.
be hard pressed to get the police involved, like I said OP has discretion as to wich way they wish to deal with it the right way is to send it DVLA right away with a cover letter explaining the situation.0 -

Then make the gap the same day, DVLA will automatically use the next day & the chances of any offences on the day the Dealer sent the V5 off is pretty slim.
However, you are right, add a covering letter explaining the situation, even better, phone DVLA & ask their opinion.....0 -
Surely the logical option is to pick up the phone and just tell the DVLA what's happened, or is that too sensible?0
