Overall thoughts in Vodafone?

When scanning this forum I see quite a lot of discontentment with Vodafone, either over-charging or headaches with their customer services.
I have found a good 4G sim only deal for 17.66 a month inc spotify, which I think is pretty good. However, I am a little concerned about possible problems with them along the line.
Anyone think I shouldn't go with them? Also, any one got experience of the quality of their 4G service?
Thanks!

Bad. Vodafone 3G coverage is the worst of the lot so i doubt the 4G will be any better. Examples:
No 3G in most of North Wales. Where they say they do have 3G its either a 100% lie or the 3G is so bad the phone wont automatically switch the the 3G network.
I went to Chester at the weekend. Its a pretty fair sized city so you would expect reasonable coverage. 3G download speed on vodafone was between 1 and 1.94 megabits (depending on location in the city center). Tmobile though was between 6 and 14 megabits on 3G+. Not saying Tmobile is great, just that vodafone is crap.
I dont know where you are but since you are looking at 4G contracts you must know if voda have 4G in the area. Either way i would rate your chances of getting the service you think you are paying for as very slim.0 -
I agree with the last point. 4G is not universal in the UK.
Having said that, I don't believe that Vodafone are any worse than other networks - and better than others. I have used all 4 main networks - and 3 as well for a very short time - as well as Ovivo which I use as my 2nd spare line. I found Vodafone best for reception in my location with O2 a very close second. EE companies' reception is pretty dire.
On administration, I actually had no problems with any of them but I guess I was lucky.
My advice would always go for the best reception as that is why you have the phone in the first place.0 -
Thanks MataNui
Sorry to hear its not up to expectations - I think I might stick with Three. They are good most places -except where I live where it seems to be a bit of a blackspot but can use wifi and landline in desperate. Seems to be ok in London and most other places I go across UK. Not sure about Wales though0 -
Been with Vodafone for many years. Only issues i had.
I phoned to enquire about my contract expiry date. Told it was already up a week ago. Mentioned several features i wanted. I said i will checkout some phones and get back to them the following day. Then i get a text saying my order is on its way.
Sent me a phone without the features i enquired about.
Ordered the phone i wanted and the delivery driver took the the unwanted one.
Got my wife a new phone and because she wouldnt use the internet the package had no data allowance. I disabled all data on the phone.
About 3 months into the plan the phone started to connect to the internet. Initially started at 3 or 4am whilst we were all asleep.
Connecting every few seconds then every few minutes then a pause then starting again.
They refunded the data charge and i took the phone to the local store. Got that look where they thought i had not disabled the data.
After several minutes of blank looks and errr and ummm. They had to take it to the techie behind the scenes.
Its connecting to the Voda360 network but its not a 360 phone. All we can do is give you a free data addon.
So we got data for free.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0
