Outlook 2010 rules and alerts

Hi all

I'm trying to set up a rule in Outlook 2010 to move certain emails.
I think I've set it up properly but it's not working.

The rule description I've got so far reads:-
Apply this rule after the message arrives
with Undeliverable in the subject
and with mailbox is full in the subject or body
move it to the deleted items folder

"Undeliverable", "mailbox is full" and "deleted items" are all underlined.

I've got a message in the inbox that should satisfy this rule and I've ticked the box which says something along the lines of "run this rule against messages already in the inbox" but it's not moving the email.

Anyone any ideas where I've gone wrong?

If I've missed anything, let me know and I can post the extra info.

There's an option on the list called "delete it"
That might work rather than moving it to the deleted folder.
    1. Have you tried to Google the answer?
    2. If you were in the other person's shoes, how would you react?
    3. Do you want a quick answer or better understanding?

It's not doing the move and I'm using this for testing purposes.
Do you know if "delete it" moves it to the deleted items folder?
I don't want to make this rule live and find out it's deleting things it shouldn't.

I just tested it for you, and yes, it works.
It moves the file to the deleted items folder.

    OK, thank you.
I'll change the rule, run it against the inbox and see what it does for me.

Just tried the updated rule and the email is still there.
Also tried deleting the rule and trying again and it still won't move.
Think I'll just leave this one alone and delete them manually.

It may be because you have the two sets of words.
How about going for just one list: "undeliverable, mailbox, full" in subject or body
    1. Have you tried to Google the answer?
    2. If you were in the other person's shoes, how would you react?

You are checking for both rules to be satisfied:
    with Undeliverable in the subject
and with mailbox is full in the subject or body

You might want to set up two separate rules if you want either requirement to move the mail (one for undeliverable in the subject and one for mailbox is full in subject or body).

But I need both items in the same email before the email is moved to the bin.
I think I'll remove the undeliverable bit and see how that works.

    And that didn't work either.
Think I'll remove the rule and just delete them manually.

rmg, did you try my earlier suggestion of searching for the 3 words: undeliverable, mailbox and full.

Also, can you post (or PM me) an example of one of the emails you expect to obey the rule. I will have a play with it.
