Son is keen on the Nokia Lumia 625. The cheapest i found is at carphonewarehouse.

It will be a PAYG tarriff. Thinking of EE because like orange it offers 2 for 1 cinema tickets. Son is aware it has limited apps compared to android.

Is EE a good network?

Are the phones supplied by carphonewarehouse locked? If yes how easy is it to unlock?

Is the phone available cheaper elsewhere?

Thanks in advance for any replies
Problem with having access to internet is that i get asked by many to solve their problems :( Well at least i learn something on the way :D

  • I would get it at Carphone Warehouse. You are 99% certain to get an unlocked and unbranded (no operator junk) phone.

If you have an existing Orange PAYG SIM buy it as an upgrade for £129.95 and you won't have to top up.

Don't let them cut the SIM to fit (it takes a small one) but ask them if you can bring the SIM back once you have sorted out your contacts.

Once you have the new phone look at "3" and their 3 2 1 PAYG deal which is really good for light use smartphones or if Orange suits best get the SIM cut to size.

I have a Nokia 920 and I think it is really good. Some things have to be done differently compared to an iPhone but I'm pleased with my Windows phone experience.
