Refund policies

Please can anyone advise on wether or not legally a small secondhand clothing agency can state their items are sold as seen, and are unable to give refunds as they are the acting agency not the owner of clothes purchased? Many thanks in advance

In a business to business context they can say more or less what they like, if you're after your consumer rights position then try the consumer rights forum on this site.

I suspect the answer will be ’it depends', so giving explicit detail (for instance whether bought online, had chance to inspect the goods etc) might be helpful for people there to argue the question. I'd also suspect that whatever the legal position it may not be worth arguing the toss over unless the items are particularly valuable.

Big sign "strictly no refunds on used clothes"

    Job done.

If you start ringing consumer direct or trading standards you'll get all sorts of wooly (no pun intended) do gooder advice about what you *must* do, which will only leave you liable to be exploited by the lying weasels that make up a fair percentage of the buying public.
