This was brought to our attention in another thread. I thought it worthwhile starting a new discussion thread here.

http://www.burtonmail.co.uk/News/Relief-for-patients-as-Queens-suspends-controversial-parking-fines-20131212071115.htm

ParkingEye's activity at Queen's Hospital in Burton has brought anguish and deep concern to very many vulnerable people who have so many other priorities, like A&E emergencies with young children, life-threatening or terminal diagnoses, last minute dashes to dying relatives, than having to worry about parking charges.

So much so that hospital bosses have suspended the PE operation there. Will be very interesting how this pans out if they sack PE off.

Somerfield immediately springs to mind - but wouldn't that be a fabulous press possibility :D

Maybe Parking Prankster might be interested? I'll PM him :D

    The mortuary? :)
If you fold it in half, will an Audi A4 fit in a Citroen C5? :)

Umkomaas - I think your title needs altering:

Is there any place for Parking Eye anywhere now!

PS just read the article - another misguided journalist/hospital calling them fines and penalties - or perhaps just the truth about what parking eye's charges are after all!

No, I won't be changing the title - there's still the bottom of a pond or the underside of a stone where there remains a welcome :rotfl:

Aintree who do have a history here on MSE, do at least have a good parking system you enter take a ticket then pay the correct fee on the way out. These timed P&D are fine if you're a visitor you know roughly how long you will be there. If you have an appointment we all know it can sometimes be a very long stay.

It would seem the trust has gone for the cheap option a free service by PE rather than install a pay at exit barrier. However they have now found out what PE are all about, lets just hope they can get out without rewarding PE.

To directly answer the question in the thread title - the sluice room, where all unpleasant, toxic and superfluous waste matter is disposed of

Somebody on PePiPoo raised the question of patient confidentiality when a PPC sends out to the registered keeper ANPR images taken in a hospital car park . It could be that the driver is not the RK, and that they they do not want the RK to know they have been attending hospital.
What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?

Now that's a good point and could cause grief to patients as well as to the PPC.
