i want to live stress free

Hi i left university as a year 2 student as me and my girlfriend were expecting a little boy..... i had too leave university to allow me to work more to provide more for my little family. He was born 1st january 2013 and whilst leaving university and getting more hours in work i managed to build up a £1200 overdraft which at the moment is interest free until August which i need to pay off i earn on average of £950 a month but with £500 worth of rent to pay im not left with much and im constantly stressed aand unhappy because of this situation and embarressed to speak to family and the bank

  • Are you claiming all you are entitled to - eg tax credits etc.
    There is a website called entitledto which can give you an idea?
  • all of this goes into my partners account and is used for the children and we dont qualify for any help towards rent as we both work, childcare costs we have to cover and as it is an overdraft in my name i feel totally responsible for it

    You have a young child. You'll not be stress free for another 25 years.

    Focus on doing well at work and moving up the ladder. Consider a part time job. Or your partner getting some work in.

    Chip away at the overdraft bit by bit.
