Our fixed rate is up soon and Mr Delta and I have spent some time this evening researching deals to change to. Should hopefully be about £50 a month less than we pay now. As Mr Delta is going to be a student this is good! And one day we will hopefully be op'ing again. :money:

Good luck on getting a good deal Echo. You're lucky! I'm in neg eq so it's not something I can attack with vigour at the moment. Shame, because at 4.79% it grates every time I pay my monthly DD!!

Oh no, negative equity must be a giant pain :(

We fixed our interest rate in early 2009 (I think, it might have been late 08) when interest rates had "nowhere to go but up". If only we'd known!

Good news is that my mental state is feeling much better. Feeling much more normal. I read this great quotation (but now can't find it to give credit), "Everything that happened led you to today".

    Nsd today and yesterday.

Feeling vaguely back in the zone.

Nice to read you are feeling more positive! I too fixed part of our mortgage when interest rates had nowhere to go but up and cannot even bring myself to mention rate :rotfl: Still that ends in Sept ....I'd look foward to it but I dont want to wish away the summer. :)
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!

Hello Echo - sorry to hear of Mr's redundancy :( But at least he now has plans - and they sound good ones, too!!

Also sorry to hear you're suffering. Recovery will take time and you really do need to not overdo things. There may be an occasional small slide back which may make you feel disheartened, but in that instance you need to look at the overall upwards trend. Wishing you well xx

Just sorted out new fixed rate. Now fixed for 2 years. With the reduced rate but by very slightly increasing our monthly payment (by a fiver) we have reduced the term of the mortgage.

Now our end date is June 2025.

    :T

And I'm feeling generally much better in myself as well. Mr Delta is looking at college courses and doing some voluntary work. All feeling much more positive.

Now...I just really need to stop buying clothes!! :rotfl:

I'm really pleased to hear that you're feeling more like yourself :)

Mr Delta sounds like he's really embracing the changes in his life, more power to him

Keep us posted (I can't remember the last time I actually mentioned making an OP on this board)!

    Pay day tomorrow yippee!

I need to get back into the habit of checking the online banking and doing Tilly Tidying etc. Aim for April.

I am determined to curb my current shopping habit!

I am bidding on one thing on The Bay of Fleas and then I will buy nothing more there for April. I swear! Please shout at me if I do!

I need some new trainers as mine are worn out and starting to hurt my feet. I am doing a sponsored walk in May (26 miles ) and comfy feet are a real must.

Yesterday was a nsd. Today will hopefully be as well, just taking Small to a birthday party at a soft play place so might have a drink there to ease the pain!

A walking marathon ED? Sounds cool :)

I'm doing a half marathon in June and a decent pair of trainers are essential!
