Find the Financial Ombudsman phone number and chat to them. They will be very pleased to help you. They know all about igo4, wisedriving, hastingdirect smartmiles and most of all, behind them is ADVANTAGE. Google that name here and you will know more. Just phone and chat.

    Take a deep breath

Igo4 are not part of Advantage. Advantage are the underwriting arm of Hastings direct.

By all means go to the FOS but make sure that you at least complain about the correct company ;)

Having read all the comments about this company ,after my grand daughter has been having problems with them i would say to anyone thing of going with this company DONT ,se also has had letters saying her policy is cancelled, when all shes doing is trying to pay them, she has spent a fortune on phone calls always put on hold and told to email ,then they say they didnt get it charged her £125 cancellation fee, then let her know they found it after all, then she asked for advice on how to pay,[they had alrwady taken £400 deposit, now they have sent her another letter saying they are cancelling because she hasnt paid a deposit which of course she has, she rang them again ,and they promised to sort it out and ring her, they didnt ring when they said and eventually rang in the afternoon, leaving a message on her voicemail just saying please ring us, she tried to ring again but again was put on hold, they have kept saying it has to be sorted with finance company, but this has been going on for months, since last August when she first got her car, also at one point they wanted all her insurance at once, which she couldnt afford, they then say they dont know anything about it

Call me a cynic, but how come the people slagging off this company are newbie posters? Almost as if it is the same person posting under different screen names.
That, in itself, would not persuade me.

However, their are repeated posts of a single ridiculously long sentence.

One of those was a different poster (me) to demonstrate the point.

The others are not and all seem to be saying roughly the same thing.

So I think it is possible that it is one person pursuing a vendetta.

Until this thread I had never heard of the company and if getting insurance would only ever go with a major name with a solid history of good service.
Provided it is a company that is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority you should be okay - and if not you can ask the Financial Services Compensation Scheme to put it right.

However, you need to check that it really is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority.

Do not take their word for it, check it out at https://register.fca.org.uk/

Do not use a link an insurance company gives you for this as it may be to a fake site.

Further to my last post, we were told that my grand daughter had to pay 5 months back monthly premiums of £741-45, and £148-29 a month thereafter, but not until she got her credit agreement, bear in mind she joined wisedriving in August, last year 2015, she has had it cancelled several times, but they dont send her any credit agreement, but keep telling her, that they have spoken to Premium Credit, someone rang her called Richard and told her to ring again and ask for him, gave her an ID no,, which doesnt exist, and phone no, i have authorisation to speak for her,so i rang, the phone no had been changed so rang the new one, no one called Richard there and in any case it was the travel card tel,no, so the lady i spoke to after explaining what it concerned put me through to Premium credit, where i spoke to someone called Peter Swindell,[lol] and he looked for my grand daughters name, and surprise surprise, she isnt even on the system, shes now going to look into another insurance company after taking advice from Consumer helpline ,this company is a con, please anyone reading this STAY AWAY

Just want to add this company target young and first time drivers, who are looking for as cheap insurance as they can afford, and there is also a facebook page of complaints about them, so whoever is being cynical, these are genuine complaints and it is NOT the same person, i have spent a lot of money on phone calls to this company, and my grand daughter over £100 on her mobile because they promised to ring back but rarely do,so shes had to ring them, disgusting company, we will also be contacting the FO
