Another £ for the tin today - had a really expensive credit card bill and can see how much I've got in my signature in my £ tin - tempted to open it but NO, will eat beans all month if necessary.......

    Sorry... am here.

We are still potting our pennies (well, pounds) but have broken into it. The plan was to use our pot as our xmas fund and I have started buying presents already.
The great thing is that I am buying things as I see them and know that the presents I am buying have some thought behind them (last year was mainly biscuits and vouchers due to time constraints and money problems).
    :o

So balance has dropped a bit but we are almost halfway through our present buying.
    :j

We are still contributing our £1 a day (well we are paying in monthly but it's the same idea) as we are planning on this rolling over each year so that we end up with a rolling xmas pot.
Eventually, once we have figured out budgeting for the average xmas, we will use it for birthdays as well as xmas.
    :)

I will try and post more so poor alwayshappy doesn't end up talking to herself again.

Well I'm glad someone else has taken some money out already for Xmas pressies.

I've been wanting to do it as I've bought a few also, and would like to get my Credit card down a bit which they were paid on, so I feel like it's OK to take the money out now :o :rotfl:

I didn't want to do it or say I'd done it incase I got shouted at lol. will have a looksie later and see how much I need to pay off for Xmas pressies :o

Phew, I'm not alone!! Its great having this little stash of cash, and nobody is going to shout at it being opened - how fabulous that you are using it for the purpose you intended it for - getting Christmas presents!! at least this way you won't be paying nasty credit card interest, and are able to make thoughtful choices for your family and friends!!

Post changed to reflect this new found information.
    ;)

I just felt there is no point in waiting until November to start buying presents as I might not see the gifts again. Glad someone else is doing the same. I was getting a bit worried when I was reading about "must not touch the pot"...

What are you planning on spending your pot on alwayshappy??
