  • Morning,

Not been here much recently... Had a crazy first half of the week! Tomorrow is crazy too... So today I'm making loads of bread and doing the washing to try and make tomorrow a bit easier.

DH is on leave starting tomorrow, back to work Jan 6th :)

I'm fresh food shopping tonight (and buying 'reindeer food')

Dinner is LO Bolognese on Jacket Potatoes :)

Hope everyone has a great day x

    Morning all,

not much going on in my life at the moment. Hubby still working 12 hour shifts and staying out of town.

Youngest still working hard at college. I think this year might be his last year at college unless things change. He's gained a good electrical background at college. Is passing the exams he needs to be employed but he's getting no real working experience apart from working with his Dad off and on.... His Dad really needs to take him on full time plus our son needs experience. Ive explained to his Dad that next year to further our son he will have to go down the 'Apprenticeship' route but it still means part time college but Dad says he needs him as soon as possible full time. I'm not happy. I want our son to do the full 3 years at college. Our son isn't sure what to do... so we are thinking about it some more.

I must admit, although I love my space I don't know how i'll cope when both of them are working away. I wont see anyone for days and ive only slept in the house by myself a couple of times overnight.

We put the Christmas tree up yesterday afternoon. Cards written on Tuesday but not been sent. I might do that later.

Tea, on the same theme we've adopted all week... feasting on stuff hubby doesn't like. Chips tonight and steak pie (pastry gives hubby indigestion and chips causes him to pull 'ive poisoned him' sort of faces). Obviously veggies too. Well we need one healthy element in the meal don't we?

Need to do my accounts this afternoon... to see what money I have (or don't have).

Oh well, need to feed the 'Girls'. Onwards, forwards.

    Hilstep thinking of you still.

    Have a great day all,

    Morning all

Off to see ancient relative this afternoon for seasonal visit then. out to dinner with our 'ladies wot do dinner' taking OHs for the first time, it's to a place where the owner does private dinners, about 20 of us I think, take your own drink, not as grand as it sounds!!

Eating out of the freezer to empty a bit to refill with seasonal bits. Off to the market along the embankment on Sunday and afternoon tea in Oxford street courtesy of my working leaving voucher I was given, 15 months ago. Our nan used to come with us to see the London lights so a bit of nostalgia going on this weekend for us:xmastree:

Hugs to those that need them, it's a bad time of year for some of us as I know only too well from years past having lost a parent at Xmas time.

    Morning all,

Bitsy, have a hug it's awful if any of your kids are unhappy, fingers crossed he settles soon x
Judi I hate staying in the house alone as well
Tru sounds like my kinda day;)
Hugs for anyone else that needs one x

Well I've found out why I'm exhausted. Had a call from the preop clinic nurse to say I have quite a bad water infection which obviously needs to be sorted before my operation on the 6th. Next a cal from my lovely doctor to say he has left me a prescription for strong antibiotics for a week then back to the preop with a sample to check its clear. Absolutely no alcohol with these, glad I had a glass of wine last night then;) so the tiredness, dizziness, burning sensation and crazy dreams all now make sense:o

I've posted my Christmas cards this morning and shall pop up to the doctors shorty for my prescription, hubby is at snooker tonight so a quick tea before he disappears and I shall watch the Masterchef final.
Just a couple of bits and bobs for Christmas left and the food shop of course, shall try and do everything apart from fresh stuff on Friday.

Hoping for a nice quiet weekend but then I always say that. DGS school is closed for the infants after today until after Christmas so I shall have him tomorrow and probably another day next week. I don't mind we are planning making mince pies and watching Christmas movies in our pjs:D
Better get on, I'm reading a fab book at the moment, Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn I am really enjoying it.
    Enjoy your Thursday all x

    Hi all.
    Hoppy Birdday Topsy.
Looks like a good drying day today; I hope so, I have a load of Mr LW's laundry out on the whirligig.:o

Actually, I'd like it to continue mild and dry for at least the weekend, so that I can give the Hairy Hooligans a good game in the garden with their tennis balls - roll on Saturday, when they arrive.:D

Nmlc I think you're wise, keeping your distance from your friend's troubles; just giving practical help like letting her use your printer for letters is the best thing; you don't want to get embroiled.

Lonewhitewolf Hi, good to see another of the "Lupine" persuasion here.:D

Redruby I too would sooner visit the dentist than the hairdresser – haven't been in about 30 years; the last time I tried it I had a major panic attack, because I simply can't abide strangers mucking about with my hair. Mr LW colours it for me, and trims the ends occasionally, and that's all it gets.:D

I have a load of food-related stuff to do today; pizza for dins (the base is made, just need to construct the topping); there's a loaf in progress in the BM as I type; and I need to do a cake for Mr LW's lunch box, as he used up the last that was in the tin today - he's asked for cherry'n'coconut this time.:o I was going to do banana cake, but the 'nanas have mysteriously vanished. I'm pretty certain the house-wights haven't eaten them......
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

    Afternoon.
Keep missing days on here as baby keeps me busy plus it was our anniversary this week so DH had some days off ;)
    Lots of Noah problems.
He's still angry at his autism with bouts of being low and wanting to die:(

All this week he has wanted to go to his room and just lie there in the dark after school..... Yesterday I discovered sites on his iPad where he'd been searching quickest way to die and best way to kill yourself:eek:
Cue emergency visit to his psychologist today... Now waiting psychiatric assessment:-(
He is so stressed and anxious his Tourette's has worsened and he's very conscious of it.
Anyhoo despite this xmas is all sorted. All presents done etc. made blackberry and Pinot noir jam for teachers and therapists gifts.... Also making biscotti and salted maple syrup butter for gifts.
Tea tonight chicken with chips and Caesar salad.

  • Hi Chums my big brother is here until tomorrow and its lovely to see him.Today I did the school run, made a vat of leek and tattie soup (David's favourite) The gardener came this morning and steam cleaned the patio it looks fantastic and no slimy bits or moss on it so I shan't be falling over in the wet :):).
All my Christmas card are done and posted and all the presents wrapped I can relax now as I have no need to go near a shop until the New Year :):):)
DGS Henry is at Twickenham with his school watching a rugby match so I only have Jack and Mikey to make a snack for ben will make his own when he gets home.David and I picked up his Christmas bits he's taking back to France with him so he too is all 'shopped out'
Dinner at my Dds tonight so I don't even have to cook either.
Consultant told me I will have the first of three ops. in April of next year so by this time next year I will be looking like my old self again. He is such a lovely chap and reassured my DD that he will look after me as though I was his own Mum :):)He is delighted at my weight loss,as I am as well so its all systems go for April ,fingers crossed
Hope everyone is having a good day
    Cheers chums JackieO xxx
  • Evening all
I had my work appraisal today, I'm glad it's over, it felt like the sword of Damocles!
I'm so tired but struggling to get enough sleep, partly because the muppet next door is waking me up at 3/4ish & I can't get back to sleep, partly because of hubby's shift system.
I need to defrost one of my freezers at the weekend, that way there will be room for my Christmas food.
    Have a good evening everyone.
    Hugs Hester
    Chin up, Titus out.
