I Googled and picked the first two websites to appear. Both claimed to have S18 AXO available for purchase! I smell something fishy.

The site probably offers it for sale then if they get a bite they'll contact the owner of the plate and see if they want to sell. Very similar situation with website domains.

Do you reckon the one on that Accord was purchased as a private plate?
  • I have been in a car with SN 08 xxx - and the car was pretty SNOBby as well!

I remember a certain Scottish 'person' of indeterminate gender having the plate 1 UP U

    A famed attention seeker.

The term 'cherished number' is often used.

I cherish my anonymous plate anyway.

No regional letters that anyone can identify my home town/region and no year identifier either.

My number is just a jumble of letters that means nothing. Certainly none of the one-upmanship that so many folks seem to aspire to.

As for these plates that spell words - rude or otherwise - my old dad said that if it needs to be explained what the plate is meant to say, then it was a waste of money.

The obvious year identifier in the UK just induces some folks to get a newer car to keep up with their neighbours.

There's a lovely Mercedes-Benz AMG with a better number than that - but it's not for sale.

Hehe. I know that back in the day they refused to issue PEN 1 S, but that one obviously got through the net.

My favourite of all time is a bed shop in my local town that has a delivery vehicle with the number D1VAN.
If someone is nice to you but rude to the waiter, they are not a nice person.

Stick it on eBay with a starting price of £29.99

It'll fetch what it's worth if it's that hot / wicked.

The best one I've seen was a Lambourghini with the reg L 4 MBO. Mind you, if you can afford a Lambo then I suppose you can afford an expensive plate.

Personally I did it a cheaper way - changed my name by deed poll to X478YYR :-)
