Hi I have a personalised reg plate that was on a saxo S18 AXO. I want to sell this in a way that is hassle free. Could anybody give me some advice on how much to accept and where to advertise, I have tried ebay no joy and Facebook

S 18 AXO ?
is that to be supposed to be valuble?0 -
The big plate sites like Elite Registrations and Newreg will offer to sell it for you, give you a guide price etc. Bear in mind that personalised plates are almost the definition of a luxury purchase, and the end of a recession is probably not a good time to sell. I got personal plates for my own car and my wife's (same letter/single number, then our initials, nothing flash) a few years ago, and the prices for similar ones now are half what I paid then. Unless you are selling something very desirable like N1GEL or J4MES, I think you would wait a long time to get a decent price for it.
I used Newreg.com and they were fair to deal with and efficient. But I would sell mine tomorrow if I could. Stealth operations are impossible with your initials all over both ends of the carIf someone is nice to you but rude to the waiter, they are not a nice person.0 -

Yes, I would think there would be some interest. A lot of people are prepared to ignore random letters and numbers and think that it spells something significant, and perhaps there are plenty of those within the 'Saxo community'.If someone is nice to you but rude to the waiter, they are not a nice person.0 -
It's only going to appeal to another Saxo owner, so a Saxo Owners club would be the best place to start. You may have a pay them a fee to join and advertise.0

Seeing as how a Citroën Saxo is not exactly a 'prestige' car I too doubt that this plate is worth very much.
As bee says, no bids it's first time on eBay, but I think a reserve price of £500 (if I've understood the listing correctly) would have put most folks off.
Relisted it got bids of £31, but obviously still didn't meet the reserve.
I agree that the OP should try a Citroën Saxo forum.
Good luck with that.0 -
If the Saxo has had it's day within the chav community, and I have no idea if it has or not, then you have next to no chance of shifting it.0

There's a lovely Mercedes-Benz AMG with a better number than that - but it's not for sale.
