Off the top of my head about 3 years ago they had:
One time payments
References show up properly
Overnight payments were the norm 20 years ago, rather than 3 days
Automatic payments/SOs where you had full flexibility (i.e. enter in 20+ manual dates, last business day of month, last day of month)
Text message alerts
Things were structured better (i.e. didn't have a different list of payees per account, it was a combined list)
Secured log in with a device, unsecured login without with restrictions
Provided you options to pay cards in full or min amount now or on a due day
I think the UK is almost caught up0 -
Not sure who you bank with but I was able to do this with Santander years ago, maybe around 2006 or so when they were known as Abbey. Lately I've not used ATMs to manage money.
Maybe that's something Santander brought with them from Spain, because I don't see it as an option when using cards for any of the banks I'm with (although my accounts are spread around so much these days that I only have 1 with many banks). And this was a facility available around 20 years earlier than that in NZ.0
