Working out my money this month I may be able to make it up to over £500 saved, but it will be tight. £737.50 declared for January and submitted the form; may have another £30 or so if I make it to the bank to pay in coins, otherwise I'll add them to February. £12k for the year is going to be a stretch, but I'll give it my best shot"Save £12k in 2019" #120 - £100,699.57/£100,0000

Have decided to be optimistic and increase my target to £11,000.
Do I need to update the spreadsheets myself or post it in here? Not used this sort of thing before so no idea of the etiquetteMother, wife, scientist, analyst.

I have had confirmation of a pay rise which will take effect from February (end of the month) pay day. As a result I would like to raise my goal by £2000, bringing my total goal to £12,000.
Although I wont be putting away any money this month I'm determined to hit my goal. Still a very ambitious target for me. Somehow I need to squeeze in payments for x2 holidays. March Holiday Budget £400.0 -
Well done to everyone who has banked some savings this month. And welcome to all the new people to the challenge.0

Hi, this is my first update for January. I really wanted to have a solid start to the year to get the ball rolling, I find I always do better if it feels like there is an actual pot from early on rather than a slow build up which can leave me lacking in motivation. Of my £7,500 for 2014 I have £650 in my savings account. Would be really pleased to get to 1k by the end of January and the ease off slightly in the coming months.
Thanks again for setting this up, it's a really positive thing for a lot of peopleSave 12k in 2014 challenge:#09 - £1,560/£7,5000 -
Just heard that the money I lent a friend for an emergency flight is going to be refunded in Feb, so that will be a good boost to next months funds. Other than that nothing to report, a very up and down month which has left me breaking even. It will get better.0

Hi folks,
I have just found this thread, but I am wondering how people save?
I have my wife on me on a strict budget but would love to save to afford a good holiday and or new car.
Are people cutting back, or finding cost cutting options or something else?
Many thanks in advice for your help.0
