Hi,
Would like to join this challenge. My target is £5,000
I was doing quite well at saving in Q4 2013 and closed the year with just short of £1,100 in my savings account. Since Christmas and moving house this week the saving has stopped (although I havent taken out of my savings either). So I want to get it back on track and save £5,000 this year so that I close the year with over £6,000 in the savings account.2016 extra earnings

Iv put the £2,000 opening balance at start of jan away, so all I have in current account is what's been saved this month so far...£1,700ish with possibly a little more to come on the 31st. However we have booked Paris and leave 3 weeks today
July and August is where I will probably save at least a third of my overall total as 3 weeks paid holiday in July but I will most likely work most of them and August I get 3 pays Ever though monthly expenses stay the same!! Will be no holidays that two months... If I save enough in that two maybe go away September time!!

Declaring £3000 for January, including the £520 for my tax rebate. This will be added to my savings from last year to form my £10k emergency fund - which is currently held across 3 current accounts paying good interest rates - and my savings for new car fund (my intention is to never again have to take out a loan for a car). Will stop adding to emergency fund now but will continue adding small amounts to car fund.
From end Feb onwards I am starting my long term savings plan. My overall aim is to have roughly £300k saved/invested over the next 15 years.

I'm no. 153 in this challenge....
It's January payday for me today, so I've put away my second £500 installment to our 'untouchable' savings account. By having 15 no-spend-days in January (so far!) I've also managed to to squirrel away an unexpected £160 from my December wages, which puts my total to date up to £1160....however, I may need to dip into that £160 later in the year, so I may be tempting fate a bit in logging it as 'in the bag' at this early stage.Save £12k in 2014 - No. 153 - £1900/£9000

So I'm not quite at the end of my month, so I'm not formally declaring!
I got a few premium bonds through at the start of the month so that was my first £50 of the year.
I also got a check for Christmas, but most of that will be going on a coat that I have spotted and I also kind of need.
Then I had my birthday and got another check. I don't really need it or have plans for it yet so that has gone into savings. (I'm up to £100!)
And then my regular transfer has also gone out (at £350), which brings me up to £450 this month already. Its above where I need to be on average, but January is usually a good month.
Anything that is left by next Friday will also be going into the pot along with my spreadsheet update. Hope everyone elses savings plans are going to plan (or as much as they can be if you are saving for an emergency pot!)Save £12k in 2014 Member 81 £1930.23/£50000 -

Hey guys,
So, I initially signed up with a target of £7000. Unfortunately, I have had to make a drastic reduction to £2014. This is due to a loan from my brother that I have to pay off. I am aiming to get this loan cleared by the end of July, so hopefully from then on I will be able to save a lot more each month and have greater peace of mind.
As per my sig, my goal is to achieve positive net worth by the end of the year. Since the age of 16 (26 now), I've always had some form of unsecured debt, so can't wait to be out of the red!0 -
