sounds like it's a case of your face didn't fit.

But I would look at all 3 of your credit files, get the paper copies. Just to make sure everything is fine.

never ever missed a payment been late with one either.

You don't have to keep telling us!! No offence, we don't care (as in it makes no difference to us if you have or haven't) and we're not lending you the money.

Gosh! I thought Creation gave money to ANYONE that asks!!
As an ex-bankrupt who was renting my home I applied for Finance for THREE different things and was accepted for all! (This was years ago and all got paid off properly).

Sorry OP, there must be a red flag on your file somewhere and Creation has done you a favour by highlighting it really, so you can put it right
  • just ordered a paper one should I get online one as well

I must disagree - I care for one. It is quite a daunting thing accessing your credit files for the first time - especially if you feel hard done by with a lender. I recall that fear well.

And to be a homeowner in employment to be turned down for a mobile contract and finance for a pc - does seem unusual.

But it gets easier as time goes by - and knowledge of the system grows. From now on - access those reports annually is the advice here.

Let us know please if there is anything untoward on those reports - companies you don't know, products and debts you don't have etc.
  • ok update used equifax nothing untoward that i can see even had our washing machine back in 2009 from creation finance all payed off and on time.
unless im missunderstanding anything . maybe they thought they wont much out of me i dont know.
  • what should I be looking for in the credit file report I received dos it stand out for you like highlighted ?.

Each credit report can hold different information about you, so check your Experian and Noddle ones too.

Equifax could show you as being squeaky clean while the others don't. You need to look at all three to get a full picture.

Sometimes you just don't match their criteria. They may already be lending to enough people in your position. Don't take it personally. Just apply with another lender in a little while rather than fighting this losing battle.

  • well I've looked at my report and there's nothing odd about anything everything paid on time.
I remember when I went into Tesco for a phone contract he said got any id I replied only my debit card that's all you need, but then when it failed the check he phoned them up and told him to tell me go home bring driving licence passport etc but I just went home signed up online .anyway my credit report says reason for search proof of id.
and when applying again through the dell website creation asked for a number off my driving licence and I couldn't find it so entered passport number yet again on my report it says search type combination with id.
we are coming to the end of our current mortgage deal and was thinking of changing lenders will this affect anything?.
