It's all on the .gov site but if you'd rather the header read CAA

    here you go
    http://www.caa.co.uk/default.aspx?catid=2200&pageid=14486

There's no need for the sarcasm and, yes, I've read the information in the link you've posted - in the BA info that I posted a link for above.

It contradicts what easyjet have said and I'm still confused.

    O

I wish people would properly read posts before replying.
Hopefully someone can shed some light on the hold/perfume thing.

    :wall:

Like you did when you read the email that didn't say you could take 10 bags?

So if I understand the thread you cannot carry flammable liquid in the hold (includes perfume or aftershave)
So I go on holiday airside I buy a bottle of aftershave or perfume, I can take it on the plane no problem. Returning from holiday I cannot place it in the hold luggage and if it is over 10ml I cannot carry it on board
    Another ludicrous regulation
  • so you can't take perfume in the hold..........that's if I've got the thread right.

Well if there starting on perfume, then I'm guessing spirits would be next, as vodka is flammable........

you can take perfume in your hold and carry on luggage so fear not.

the mention of flammable materials pretty much relate to anything highly flammable i.e petrol etc given that the vast majority of perfumes are made up of water if you put a match to it then it wouldn't ignite.

and as previously mentioned if it was totally banned they wouldnt sell it airside for you to walk on the plane with would they?

Just put it in the hold luggage it's fine.
  • Well likelyfran, if you take the same attitude with the check in and security staff at the airport as you have with some of the posters here, you probably won't be flying anywhere so carrying perfume will be the least of your worries.
    I KNOW!!

    Have you got any info./advice???

I said the tweezers thing was tangential - you can read can't you?
You seem to have missed the main point of my post and what I am trying to find out.

And this appears to be the most truthful comment you've made.
    and I'm still confused.

    :T Oh well done 'Hermione'!

I'd rather have an 'attitude' like mine than one like yours.

    Frequent flyer, thanks. :)

Anyway, update - I received another email from Easyjet:

    "Thank you for your reply.
I apologise for the incorrect information given by my colleague. You can take perfume in cabin bag as well as in hold bag. If you are carrying it in cabin bag, each container should not exceed 100 ml and in total you can carry a maximum of 1000 ml. It should be carried in a clear, resealable plastic bag and is not necessary to take one resealable plastic bag per container. You can adjust it within few plastic bags.
You can carry it upto 2 litres within your hold bag and must be carefully sealed in a plastic bag.
For detailed information, please click Liquids in Cabin baggage.
    Yours sincerely.."

.. which satisfactorily clears things up for me. (going to print this and take it with me just in case!).

    It's clearly a confusing issue...

Thanks to all who gave info.! :)
