I recently bought a groupon voucher for a pair of swarovski earrings and necklace set RRP £50, Groupon price £5 + £5 p&p. They arrived from the seller and suffice it to say if I'd paid £50 for them I'd have sent them back and asked for a refund. They looked like the sort of cheap costume jewellery you would buy on a market stall for a few pounds. They even came on those cheap plastic "cards" that you get on earrings from places like Claire's accessories.

Things groupon/wowcher/Spree etc are good for:
    Mini breaks/hotels + dinner
Photo shoots (although extra photos usually cost hundreds)
    BOGOFs for meals/coffee

    Vouchers I've had problems with:
Every Indian restaurant in Aberdeen I've ever used one at (Bollywood, Monsoona, Nawaabs, Spice Mill, they have all quibbled with the voucher/seated us by the door in an empty restaurant/given poor service/not honoured the discount or price offered)
Hairdressers - they always claim that the person has moved salons or Groupon sold too many and can't fit you in before the voucher expires.
Ugg-style boots (not ugg brand) - if they're not actually made by Ugg, I doubt you would pay more than £30 for them anywhere

One thing that really annoys me is when companies offer these vouchers to get you in the door then make you feel like you are getting inferior service/treated differently because you have the audacity to use them! If you don't want to provide the service cheaper then don't offer it. I make a point of never returning to these types of businesses.
