Advice about Orange
I called Orange as on this months bill I have data charges.. I very very rarely get close to going over my data allowance so thought this charge was odd. I called Orange, and after waiting for a call back for a week and a half I was told that it is a charge from back in October as they 'forgot' to bill me. However half way through October (the 19th) I took out a new contract with them (upgrade) so I am really unsure if this is correct. The lady said because they forgot to inform me AND charge me in October they are adding the amount to this months bill. When i took my phone out with them, I also had to wait 2 days for them to get round to sending signal to my phone for me to even be able to use the service. Are they breaching or have they breached their terms and conditions, and if so do i have a right to cancel my contract due to these reasons. I am not happy that they feel they can just add charges 2 months later without informing me.

I don't think that they breached any T&C, but surely you have a right to get a full information/explanation. The one that they gave you doesn't sound convincing. Complain and demand detailed breakdown of your usage and the charges.
Also, most likely your billing month isn't a calendar month.0 -
They are permitted to back-bill for services and a few months are not unreasonable, especially if you were switching handsets. Two days to provide service is also par for the course, why would you think there was any breach?
As long as the service commencement date is correct (if not seek a rebate) there is no foul.0
