Sturdy mobile phone
My daughter is lethal where phones are concerned. She constantly drops them, so has gone through quite a few over the years. Fortunately friends usually donated their old ones when they bought new ones - that's how bad she has been.
Her current phone is a strong, rubberised one which we bought for Christmas several years ago. It's been great, virtually indestructible, but is now on its last legs. So she's looking for a new phone, and with Christmas coming up . . .
She's still likely to drop it (and I suspect get it damp), is not too bothered about a smartphone and is often in places where the signal is bad.
I've had a look online, but nothing jumps out at me. Any suggestions for either a phone or a cover which would make a more "normal" phone less susceptible to damage would be appreciated. Budget would be up to around £120.

Samsung C3350 Solid XCover is the one I bought for my daughter, who is equally as heavy-handed as yours sounds.
Available here, and other places : http://www.johnlewis.com/samsung-c3350-solid-x-cover-sim-free-mobile-phone/p231645408?kpid=231645408&s_kenid=2ab9e970-0ec1-1e69-c23f-00002ed07644&s_kwcid=ppc_pla&tmad=c&tmcampid=73
Hope this helps.PLEASE NOTE:

Check out Otterbox or Griffin or Juppa cases. I've tried all 3 for various gadgets and all are pretty much bomb-proof. Juppa cheapest (Iphone 4S), then Griffin (Ipad Mini) then Otterbox (Ipad 1). All depends on the phone model for availability but I think all 3 do extensive product ranges.0

Thanks. That's very similar to the last one. Depending on what else crops up, it might yet find its way under the tree.. . .I did not speak out

Thanks. I've had a look at these (after your suggestion). They're certainly interesting, and if she opts to buy herself a phone we're likely to go this route.. . .I did not speak out

Thanks. Those are certainly interesting. It helps that she won't mind what they look like. Is the smartphone version built to the same standard? (I've just come in and will have a more detailed look later.)

The (cheaper) Samsung I linked to earlier is also IP67, and dust-and shock proof. I know my daughter's dropped (and kicked - accidentally!) hers several times since she's had it and it's stood up extremely well. She's had it almost a year now (so halfway through her contract) and it still works perfectly, despite the cosmetic scuffs and dings on it!PLEASE NOTE:
