Hi Guys!

So I opened a Jacamo account 3 months ago, and they initially gave me a limit of £125 (better than nothing), they credit checked me and i thought, ok so It's there if I ever want to order from them.

Yesterday I ordered some aftershave, around £60, then today I get an email saying they wont provide credit and I must pay by card. I then called them and they said that it does say credit is subject to further checks, is this normal? Can they re-credit check you when you place an order?

I've spent 3 years improving my file, CC paid each month, £800 loan paid back on time, £2000 worth of defaults paid, 2x mobile contracts; however I'm guessing my 5 year old CCJ is still causing issues (drops off in Aug 2014).

Think I'll just buy the aftershave from Purfume Shop after all.

More common now than it used to be. Part of being a 'responsible' lender is to run periodic checks especially on a dormant account suddenly re-used.

On their website, before you ordered, did it still say that the credit ammount was available?

I'm intrigued that you've asterisked the "T" of the title; surely the "F" is the naughty bit? :)

The answer, as always, can be found in the T&Cs agreed to...
We may make periodic searches of our records, credit reference and fraud prevention agencies to manage your account with us, to take decisions regarding credit, including whether to make credit available or to continue to extend existing credit.

But it goes on to deliver some good news...
These searches will not be available to other lenders for credit assessment purposes.

You Should've started the year by putting a few quid away every week then you wouldn't have to rely on credit.
