Query-Replacement mobile headset..

Hi all..

I recently got a new mobile and included with it was the bog standard two earpieces dangling on bits of wires and also a clicky switch on the wire.

I tend to use my phone by holding it to my earhole rather than using the headset so im presuming the clicky switch is used to answer phone calls? If so,where is the microphone? is it built into one of the earpieces and therefore works by jawbone vibration/transfer?

I always have trouble with these types of earpieces as they just hang around in my ear and dont really fit them.

I am looking to buy some inear/ear bud type earphones hopefully with a mic and clicky switch. The plug on my headset has four rings on it.

How do i know which headsets are for music players (no mic) and those which are for mobiles (mic included)?

Depending on the brand of phone, the mic is normally built in to the volume control (the clicky thing).

As for which headphones/earphones have microphones, the ones with mics will be advertising the fact very clearly, the ones without will not (sorry, there's no definite way without checking the package/description)

You could try calling your land line or another phone to see if it works with the headphone.

And when you get earphone with mic, make sure you get the correct one for your phone.
Those work with iphone won't work for others.
