Watchdog advice

After recieving a pcn from a private company I began to do some research and found a link to an article on a BBC Watchdog show (shown sometime ago) that suggests you ignore all corespondance from parking companies. The advisor even showed viewers to make a paper plane out of the demand letters and see how far you could throw it.
I've ignored the first two demands and would like to carry on ignoring their letters. However, I am aware that the law and advice on how to deal with these companies continually changes.
I'd appreciate any advice on my best course of action.
Thanks for any info or links.

That watchdog advice is now out of date, and is now never linked to on here. You don't however say who the company is, and whether its in England or Wales? When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

Yes...the Watchdog link... shown in the 'Newbies read this first!' thread (already linked above); the Watchdog clip which now only relates to Scotland & NI and has done for over a year.
Read the newbies thread and the complaints about PPCs thread, and come back with any questions after that. The newbies thread does cover what your options are when you've gone and missed the appeal chance. You could have stuffed this at POPLA - and maybe you still can get it back to that stage. Which scammer?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Which country? (Eng/Wales/Sco/NI)
(I know ECP have a presence in Scotland - they "manage" some car parks near me).0 -
Sorry, it was in EnglandThe Laughingbear0

In that case the Watchdog video certainly does NOT apply. Check the sticky threads already mentioned.0

The posts near the top of the list have the word Sticky next to them. The thread referenced in my signature below is one of them, and is where you should start.0
