Why would you use mayo or salad cream?

Marie rose sauce is what you should be using.. it's pink for a start!.. with a sprig of greenery atop... on a bed of yucky salady foliage

If you make your own Marie rose sauce, then you use Mayo, mixed with ketchup and a few other bits. I would serve them without the sauce and put a pot of sweet chilli dipping sauce or similar on the side!

Mayo + tom puree/ketchup = Marie rose sauce.

In the mean time this link may have some ideas for you taste wise, and perhaps check out the comments at the bottom of this recipe as they discuss avocado dressings which is what I was going to suggest ;)

I guess it partly depends on the reason for no mayo. If it is an allergy you can substitute an appropriate equivalent to give a nearly-but-not-the-same. But if the problem lies in disliking the taste or the texture, well then you need to do something completely different like the lemon juice or salad dressing type options.

I use equal quantities of mayo, salad cream and tomato ketchup with a couple of drops of worcester sauce.

I would serve non mayo likeing guests prawns with just a bit of salt and white pepper and a lemon wedge, or the option of the very spicy sweet chilli sauce from Aldi, which I love!

Because it's based on mayo, and in the beginning - it was posted - no mayo...

I too hate mayonnaise, salad cream and anything else with mustard in it. Love prawns so with a prawn cocktail I suggest you just serve the prawn cocktail to your guest, minus any sauce but with a couple of lemon wedges separate from the prawns etc so he/she can squeeze the lemon over if desired. This would suit me.
