need to know if they will shut down a cash card account i opened just before i was made BR? just had my wages paid in and what im entilted to take from the money paid in?
Hi,
With my BR my accounts were frozen for a week or so.
Barclays sent me a letter saying it ok with me to carry on with my account.
Nat west was done by phone and branch.
I think its all about being honest and the experience of the person dealing with your BR0 -
I hope by the time you read this your OR interview will be over and done with. i found the thought of it a damn site more stressful than the actual interview and got myself into a right state worrying.
Who did you open your bank account with prior to going bankrupt....I am hoping it was a cashminder account with the co-op and if so just give them a quick call to inform that you are bankrupt, i think it is out of courtesy more than obliged to but the lady i spoke to at the co-op was lovely.BSC no.370 AD March 14

Sorry to hear that, it sounds like you were expecting it - head up i'm sure it will be fine0

I'm sorry to hear that. however, whatever the IPA is or even the BRO - I hope it will probably be better than the way you were before BR?
I know it can be hard to do - but you are walking forwards and you will find no end of posts on here from folk who have been stunned at how fast 3 years went by. Remember that if your circumstances change - you can get the IPA looked at and adjusted - its not written in stone for 3 years.
If you were expecting the BRO - well, look at the next 3 years as an opportunity to learn from what's happened and get used to a new way of doing things.

On your BR form 6.28 you would have been asked at Q5.4 about any bank accounts and should have ticked the column for which account your regular income went into. If you did that for the account you set up for your salary then it should be fine. Mine wasn't touched and I didn't send in the debit card for that account. The OR just said they would call the bank. I got a letter a week or so later say the account would remain open.
Until you have received the IPA letter, signed it and returned it, you should be able to use the money as normal to pay bills and living expenses. One of the experts might correct me but I don't think the IPA starts until you receive official notification. If in doubt, email the OR and ask.0 -
