Best place to buy Iphone 5 or 5C outright?

As in the title, obviously could go to Apple direct but is there anywhere else cheaper please?

May be cheaper by a few pound in other places but only Apple sell them fully sim free, many other places (such as CPW) the phone may SIM lock to the first SIM used in it.
  • Definitely apple. They also sell interest free over 6 months.
  • Thanks to you both for the info.
  • Just for info Apple are currently doing 10 months interest free credit, just bought my iPhone 5c from them.

Let's hope this catches on so that all consumers with the "buy now pay later" mentality stop getting their phones from the mobile networks who add a huge amount extra without even itemising their inflated APR.

To be fair it's only the manufacturers like Apple with their humongous retail mark ups that can profitably do this. 10 x £47 for a 5C or £89 upfront one-off payment for a Moto G from Tesco? Hmmm...:D

Whilst being a very big apple fan, i think Moto has definitely hit the sweet spot for the G's spec to price.

That not really comparing like to like.

If you look at top end phones they are all similar prices, the iPhone 5C (16gb) is £470, The HTC One Max (16gb) is £500, the Galaxy G4 is £440, the experia Z(16gb) is £530 Lumia 1020 (32GB) is £510. Suddenly that "humongous" markup dones look too bad as all makers have top end phones about that price mark, who else is offering a 0% interest on phones?

Its still a budget phone and reviews point to the ho hum camera, lack of 4G and general slowness compared to the top of the range models as potential issues BUT its a budget phone. If it suits your needs great, the Moto G may be the current best budget / no frills smartphone but it will not be suitable for everyone.

You are confusing high price with top end. The 5C can in no way be described as a top end phone on specs compared to the other top end phones you mention. It's basically a mid range phone sold at a high end phone price. Whereas the Moto G is a mid range phone sold at a budget price. Don't forget the most expensive single component in any mobile is the display. The Moto G betters the 5C on ppi (329 v 326) and size (4.5" v 4"). Which is kind of embarrassing for owners who have shelled out £470 for a 5C (£350 more than the equivalent Moto G). Which would buy you a 39" Toshiba Smart TV.
