TPS charge notice + Debt recovery

It was few months ago, just after we returned from our holiday a letter from TPS awaited us on a doorstep. It stated, that our vehicle was recorded and parked on the private property and overstayed a maximum stay time.
They included a photo of the car register number.
PCN didn’t make any sense. How can you overstay if the maximum stay is 2 hours… We thought; “This is a scam”. After some poor web reading, we decided to ignore further letters.
Last week we received a letter, from the DRP, demanding us to pay £149.00!
We compared all the TPS letters with the DRP letter and we went back again to read the parking sign (this time at daylight).
Our investigation concluded that: the parking sign, does say in red lettering: “Strictly no parking outside trading hours”, which is impossible to read at night.
We read the newbie section, but don’t know what to do in our situation. We’re rubbish at writing complaint letters.
What do you suggest?
You are probably fed up with repetitive questions.
We thank for your time.

Read (again) the thread referenced in my signature.
What was the date of the "offence" and what was the date (post mark if possible) of the notification?
Was there a notice to drive (windscreen ticket) and/or did they imply there was one?
Where was this?
Your choices are:
1. Continue to ignore and hope TPS don't start court action. (I don't know if they are litigious, or even have authority to initiate such action in their own name). Note: I mean actual court action (Letter Before Action / Letter Before County Court Claim)
2. Write to DRP and challenge their authority to be contacting you. (See Daisy's thread)
3. Name "the driver" (doesn't matter if the person really was the driver on that occasion, as long as the driver wasn't the keeper). Inform both TPS and DRP of this. The reason is to reset the clock so a formal appeal (which will be rejected) then POPLA appeal can be made (which will be won)0 -
Thank you for your respond!
No ticket. It was a parking eye.
- So, we don't complain either to the shops or the TPS?
- What should we write to DRP?
- Naming the driver... To be honest; we're not sure who drove. It may be even my mum who stayed here for the summer, but permanently she lives abroad.
We're investigating who drove.0 -
Currys/Halfords parking space with no automated or manual parking barrier.

This is all covered by the sticky threads already, there's a complaints thread as well as the newbies one, at the top of the forum. Don't name a driver from abroad, name a driver closer to home...rewind the clock. This is discussed loads of times if you search the forum for the keyword 'rewind'.
How about searching the forum for the keyword 'Recovery' as well before we forum posters keel over from answering the same questions again and again about DRP?No ticket. It was a parking eye.
No it wasn't, that's a company name. It was ANPR used by TPS - no idea why you ignored it...again...why are we getting this so much right now, people not reading the forum until they've missed the appeal chance? (rhetorical question but very frustrating seeing as we've not told people to ignore these for the best part of a year...).PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thank you for your reply. Well, we ignored them because we felt this was all scam and also haven't invested more time to read forums. We did read somewhere to ignore the letters, but not on this site.
You've given us very good guidance and we may need some more help in the future process for the possible positive outcome..0 -
Sorry for the repeated PMs. We're also learning to use the forum.0

If they sent first NTK after the 15 days period. What are your rights if the ticket is over 2 months old?0

It's in the newbies thread (again) and it's also in the 'successful complaints about PPCs' sticky, = how to report non-compliance to the BPA and DVLA in the hope they'll tell the PPC to cancel. Please read those two sticky threads because your questions are answered there already.

Most novices, like us are confused. We do read the sticky threads and posts, which are ultimately very helpful and we believe others agree with that. A pattern of the similar questions is being asked, and we doubt they been asked because of pure laziness (well not in our case) or wanted to be spoon fed. There are many moments, when you just get stuck and confused. Or you just aren't with handling the negative side of legals stuff, writing complaints etc.
Please be aware your help is of great importance. Please do not give up on the newcomers. You're the only hope

We're meeting a friend who will help us to write a letter to BPA and DVLA, as advised. Once we receive their respond, we will be back here for the further assistance.
In between we're awaiting for PPC response.0
