Three years into ownership of my Citroen C5 HDI exclusive, not had one issue. Ex Toyota employee and this car is proving as reliable as all the Toyotas I have owned(+20).
I guess there will always be a bad car out there, and I do appreciate you speaking from your data, however I wonder how many of the other posters have ever been in a Citroen, never mind own one.....0 -
None of those issues sound particularly major

The most reliable car I ever owned as a 1996 Xantia 1.9 TD. Had it 4 years and it was a former hire car.
Only repairs needed were new front sphere (£90 fo a new pair with fitting), timing belt (due for change during ownership anyway), 1 N/S wing mirror (I caught a wall when reversing and broke it) £35 (fitted it myself) plus 1 new headlight after it got smashed by a stone (cost £38 from main dealer).
Only got shot when the clutch started to slip when accelerating in 5th. Got quoted between £600 - £975 to replace it (followed by £400 the day after I had sold it). Had I had the £400 quote first, then I would have had the work done and kept the car.
The most unreliable car?. A Focus with one previous owner and a FSH. Needed all the sensors replaced along with the coil ant N/S wishbone.Never Knowingly Understood.

was GLAD to get rid of our 51 plate Citroen C5 this year... WISHED I'd handed it back for a full refund plus annoyance expenses the second time the rear passenger electric window failed in as many weeks.
I now have a Skoda Octavia estate - I LOVE MY SKODA!just in case you need to know:

I found that the best way to start an argument at work was to mention a make of car. Within two minutes there would be one group who loved that make and another that hated that make.
Most reliable car I ever had was a Citroen ZX diesel. In 3years and 75,000 miles it never needed a single spare part, apart from a couple of tyres. Having said the above, I would say that I have never had a car that I would say was unreliable.
In fact, the last time I broke down on the road was in about 1966 in a Triumph Herald. The vacuum advance pipe to the distributor melted and blocked up. Soon fixed and back on the road.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0
