Recommendations for Freeview + Recorder please?

Hi,

I need to replace my old freeview box and I wondered if anyone might be able to recommend a good Freeview + Recorder with a HDMI output? (My TV has two SCART sockets but one is broken and the other has the DVD in it so a HDMI connection would be useful).

Any comments appreciated. Thanks!

Easy. Humax YouView is the best. You can go cheaper if you're not so worried about catch up (ie either not as easy an interface, or not having it at all). HD, dual recording, catchup service (plug it into your router!) integrated into the guide.

I don't need catch up or any other internet features because I don't have broadband at home!

I'm looking at Humax as I've been told that they are a decent manufacturer but I just want something to watch and record Freeview channels.

(Was hoping to get something for around the £100 mark ... storage capacity dependent).

Go to Humax Direct, have a look at manager specials.
That gum you like is coming back in style.

Do you want HD or SD? If only SD, the older model Humax 9300 will do the job perfectly well, and within your budget. They only have the 9150 version in stock at present though
    as a Manager's Special.

Before Humax (of which we have two) we had two other brands which didn't last.
